Jessica M - Life update

Post by Jessica M »

Hi All,

I originally introduced myself on this forum about 16 months ago. At that time I had just come out to my wife and she was okay with my dressing but not with me wearing a wig or makeup. Since then my wife became more curious and finally a few months ago she asked me to dress fully for her one night after work. Once she saw me fully made up she immediately recognized me as a woman and we finally had the discussion that I had wanted to have the year before. Since then we have been going out together on a regular basis and recently celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary with a 4 day weekend spent fully dressed and out on the town celebrating our marital bliss. That isn't to say that it has all been easy, we have decided over the last month or so that the stress of trying to keep our secret was too much so now when people ask why i have pierced ears, wear jewelry, and have long nails I no longer try to come up with some explanation but actually tell people the truth and as a result I recently came out to my sister and she was very angry and offended by the news and for the moment has severed all contact with me. At the same time my mother-in-law and bosses had no problem with it when I came out to them.

So as you can see the last few months have been full of change and ups and downs for me and I look forward to spending more time on here chatting with people who can relate to what I have been going through since sometimes it helps me destress just to share my experiences and read about the triumphs of people like me.

thanks for reading,

Glad to see how, with few exceptions, this is working out for you.

You are lucky to have a supportive partner and community, and this group. May it keep on getting better!

Congratulations to you and the wife, Jessica, and belated Happy Anniversary! It means the world to have your partner support you, and it sounds like she does!

Yes, it's not going to be easy - you've already found that out - but you must be true to yourself, and that is what you are doing. Feels great to have that weight lifted off your shoulders, eh?

Virginia and I look at it this way: her kids both know but don't want to see her or know anything about her, and that is fine. My family will never know about Virginia - they're a bunch of holy-rollers and I enjoy minimal contact with them; you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family, and I would not pick them.

Our friends are mostly in the CD/TG community so that is not a problem, and those friends that are not 'in the community' have no reason to know. As far as anyone else is concerned - strangers, any employer/co-workers I may have, etc. - they don't sign Virginia's paycheck so if anyone finds out and has a problem then it's up to them to deal with it.

We're going to continue doing what we want to do, we're not seeking anyone's approval.

Congratulations Jessica. It must have taken a lot of courage and confidence to make the decision to come out to the family and others.

Only my wife knows about my dressing and she would freak out if I was to wear makeup, let alone a wig.

I to will have to have your patience and wait for my wife to become more comfortable with my dressing before I advance further.
