(reminds me of 2 happy occasions ... one at each of my 2 Ladies Wear Stores

... 8 yrs ago I hired a Russian immigrant girl *on her "birthday" no less ... single mother of 4 children ... barely spoke english ... failed the corporate security test because she didn't understand all the American slang terms for stealing and cheating ... but I had a *gut* feeling she was the *right* girl for the job ... I got major *doo doo* for "breaking company policy" and was "blackballed " on my personnel file ... that year she was instrumental in helping me crack a serious shoplifting problem and for the first time in the store's umpteen year history I was able to push it into the coveted 1% club for inventory shrinkage ... a couple of months ago I "bumped" into her at the hospital with one of her children ... she's *still* thanking me for giving her her first job in Canada and helping her start a new life

... 7 years ago a similar thing happened with an Eastern European housewife / mother of 2 children ... she had *no* experience in a Ladies Wear store, but she had bank and admin experience ... well, you can tell by the way a woman dresses if she knows anything about clothes ... no worry there ... she just needed practice dealing with people in the mall ... with her limited english *and* her professional credentials, she quickly became my *Allstar #1* and after I bailed out of the store was promoted to management trainee

Yes! I still feel good about *Making A Difference* in those 2 ladies lives )

Hi Darlene, Girls,

Until I was introduced to Lynn Conway's life story, and especially after "dying" & "returning to life" at least once, it was pretty easy to feel sorry for myself and shrug off "the world's" problems

"Aw, what's the use ... I'm "only a CD/TG" ... just a pipsqueak ... I'm not born under the "right sign" ... I don't have a "private school education" ... I don't have "connections" with the "movers & shakers" ... I'm not "motivated by money"

You know if Lynn Conway had "given up" when things weren't "going her way" ... and things didn't go her way ... for years, and years ... there's a very good chance we wouldn't be sitting here right now having this conversation

Having ideas about how to push for it ... how can I buckle under a few pressures and fade away because there's resistance to necessary change ?

I was already "dead" ... I was "given another chance"

Music is one of my more enjoyable pursuits these days ... following a dream that I abandoned when I was 18 because being a musician wasn't considered a "real job"

Getting physically fit again ... what a challenge ... and when I read what Lynn did in this same regard ... "after" already making monumental contributions to the world of information technology
... huh ... What can " I " say ?

Don't ask me ... ask Lynn Conway why she came into my life and reenergized me

Am I chasing a shadow ? To answer a question with a question ... "can we believe any information we encounter through the Internet?"

Until someone "proves" to me there "never was" such a "person" and I've been "trapped" in a very sophisticated "electronic web" ... Lynn Conway *is* my *inspiration*

Last I heard from the Higher Power, the LEGEND of a very REMARKABLE and living WOMAN is TRUE.

I'm chasing her example !
