I would have to say to your question, the answer might depend on the circumstances. At a Halloween Party with my daughters friends, I was asked twice. The first time, with some casual friends of hers, I denied it. I was more concerned about how my answer would impact my daughter. Later, when asked by a good friend of hers whom I also knew and knew to be liberal in her thought, I admitted it. I am looking forward to another Halloween with that same friend and my daughter in a couple of days.
Actually, I do like your answer, "I'am a crossdresser". Just that and nothing more. It answers the question and put the next comment on the shoulders of the inquirer. That's a great way to get into a deeper conversation.
Hugs,
Josey

I haven't been able to go out very nuch, but thats because of lack of time to do so. I did on that morning I had time to get ready. One thing that I didn't mention is how the school administrators didn't really know what to say. One of them (a female that is just about as tall as I am) kept studdering when she asked me what class I was going to, and the principal blew up at me when I was at my locker cleaning it out because I was "moving to slow." Oh, well. I'm kind of confuzzled about why he yelled, but that's OK, because if I ever see him again, I'll just tell him that he can stick it in his ear.
Hi Celes--
I like some of those pictures a lot. I'm not too wild about those styles you mentioned, but the sword picture and the red-and-black dress picture are great. Like that high school outfit, too.
I just started to imagine myself as a high school junior or senior, going to school crossdressed. Man, I'm not sure WHAT would have happened. I'd have been a more stunning girl at 17 than I could have ever imagined at the time, but "stunning" does not win you points at a small midwestern high school if you're a guy.
They'd have told me to change, or else go home. Sure would have been fun for home room, though.
My answer to them would be, "How yould you have responded if I were a woman?"
I'll never forget one time a stranger approached me & said "Oh wow, I had no idea you were a man!" So I immediately put on my best falsetto voice & demanded "Excuse me?" He immediately turned red & rushed off. I just made him think he inadvertently insulted a real woman!
Some folks will never learn... if a stranger reads a CD, that's one thing. But only the smart ones will have the good taste to KEEP IT TO THEMSELVES.
I think the only difference that I show en femme is the fact that I cross my legs and sit up straighter. I just use my normal voice and introduce myself with my normal name. I don't really see it as a role switch, just a change of clothes.
I think you are cool. I love the picture of you in the red and black. When in Iraq, don't forget to duck. Take care of your self! I will pray for your safety.
I was at Target buying some cheap jewelry and when I took it to the register a young guy about 20 or so was working it. He looked at what I bought and told me I had nice taste. I said thank you. Then he said, "Is this for you?" and gave me this look as if he knew the answer. Well I have always told myself I would be open and honest with anyone who asked but I just chickened out and made up a bogus story. I could see in his eyes he didn't believe me.
Later I thought about that and wondered why I chickened out. I figured it was because I was surprised by the bluntness and went into auto mode and denied it. I'm still upset I reacted that way.
Now I am coming out all over the place. Word is spreading fast (I guess it's big news when you actually know a TS). I just have to take it in stride.
