beauty i just had to comment and say how hapy i am that now you can be 'yourself' around one other person who is close to you.
now to further elaborate on this subject, gosh finding/getting/keeping friends is hard work...is it not? I can count on two hands the close friends I have had in the last 10 yrs. i find as we get older it is more 'work' than ever, espically when you factor in moving, new interest, and now like with me a baby. it is tough. when i made the big move from tx to canada i lost a few friends in the process but lucky for me, gained some new ones , so it evened out. i hvae to say being open about me and amanda is easier and in some ways even endeared me more to the friends I was able to tell (and them not desert me) , they really saw and have learned about a whole other subculture of this world then they woudl have kknown and of course their acceptance made me treasure them even more.
i am sure that this friend of yours will take what you hvae shared and be a stand up person. it already sounds like he is truly part of the inner circle.

I am so proud of you. I know how difficult these revelations can be as we mull them over in our minds, should we or shouldn't we. I know in my case, virtually none of my fears were realized and now I see the same thing happening to you.
I am just so happy and thrilled for you, and hope you continue to move forward in the way that suits you and remains within your comfort zone. It is obvious you have taken care in who you call a friend, and are now reaping the benefits.
