In your own words, there lies the answer to your question.I haven't yet seen anyone here whose crossdressing went away and whose life continued like it had never happened.
You've received some excellent advice from the other gals here and there's not much I could add. I will say that you shouldn't see this as a 'monster' you have to control. The best way to deal with something, that in all honesty, will always be a part of you, is to embrace it and accept it. It is after all, a part of you, and denying it, regardless of how much you may want to dress, will only complicate your life down the road.
When you meet a lady you want to be with, any amount of pretence will not give you a solid foundation for a lasting relationship. Only honesty and trust can build that. Be who you are and be proud of Daniel. If a woman cannot accept that, then find someone who will. It may take a while, but at least you're being true to yourself. Best of luck.
