Virginia pleads ignorance!
Are you girls saying that dreams can actually mean something sub-consicious that you want or don't want to happen??? I have not done much study on dreams. Guess I am lucky if I can even remember what I dream as they say we all dream. I did dream once (old old joke) about eating a big marshmellow and woke up and my pillow was gone! #-o #-o   . Sorry 'bout that!
I'll shut - up now!
Love ya,

Hi Virginia,

I don't understand? Are you being facetious?

Damn, Girl, had to go to the dictionary for that one!!!! Facetious: 1: Jocular (that means funny!?) in an often clumsy or inappropriate manner. 2. characterized by pleasantry or levity.
Yes!
No offense intended! I am not making light of anyone's dreams - I just don't seem to be able to remember mine. Is that good or bad?

Some people have difficulty remembering their dreams. I've had some difficulty remembering mine for a while now, though I can remember some of what I dreamt last night. I seem to have more frequent, more memorable dreams when I get a lengthier, better night's rest. I've had some trouble getting many of those for a while now.

Hey Sis,

Facetious or not I will answer this. (Speaking for myself here). The answer is no. It is about supporting someone who IMO is not hiding behind denial. (Re My signature).

Hey,

I meant it in the are you pulling my leg or are you serious way, more than the dictionary way. The dictionary wording is accurate but way too cold. I apologize if my question came off cold. Love ya' way too much to do something like that.

I promise I wasn't offended. I'm just a wee bit sensitive about it now, so I was wondering if you were joking about dreams and having psychological meaning.

Sorry Virginia!!! Thanks for clarifying that though. :)

Hi Beauty,

I wasa just catching up on this thread and realized I had not answered it already.

I have had one recurring dream in my life. And like you, the details are not always the same, but in the dreams I am always smoking. I then remember I don't smoke and put the cigerette out.

I started having these dreams after I quit smoking 12 years ago, after smoking for 16 years and having a 3 pack a day habit. Whether or not this has a specitic meaning I am not sure, but once one has experienced recurring dreams it is diffucult not to place an importance on it that one might not place, having only dreamed something once.

Having said that, I don't beleive this is some deep hidden psychological hangup either. I think that when we maker drastic changes in our life, our subconcious takes a while to catch up. I mean, most of your brains memories of you, are a person who could grow facial hair. So it is not a great surprise your brain would use these images in dreams.

Ever notice how in dreams people will be at the age you remember them best, not necessarily what they look like at the time of the dream? And like you, I have made a change also, but still I dream of myself in boy clothes.

I don't feel that seeing myself in boy clothes has any particular meaning, other than that is how I remember me ther best. I also don't beleive that dreams must have a meaning. I don't beleive anyone is accountable for what they dream, as there are few people who even claim they can.

I agree with my sisters here, that you have been very forthright and taled very candidly about your experiences and feelings about them. You gave us all a glimpse into your world. I for one think it is absolutely outstanding. You are really becomiung the person you always wanted to be. I can see it happening to you. And, you seem really happy and upbeat.

I think you have a good handle on it, and the dreams? I beleive as time goes by, you will have less and less dreams with facial hair, as your picture of yourself in your own mind changes to how you look now.

Love always,

Hi Elizabeth,

OMG! You so nailed it. Yes, yes, yes! :) I know I've been really good about not tearing up, but your post made me tear up. I've mentioned here and there it seems to be happening more without testosterone racing through my body. You are so sweet Elizabeth. :)

What you said about dreaming about smoking and that you stopped so long ago was a perfect likeness with my hair growing back in my dreams.

Thank you for your kind words of support. I really needed them.

Hi Beauty,

It beats a couple of really awful dreams I sometimes have on a recurring basis along the lines of the world ending. Just after 9-11 they changed to the world ending if we didn't all convert to Islam for a while. No need to dig real deep there..............

Usually I think dreams are interesting and we can learn a lot from them. I would be interested in what your therapist thinks about them

Do you keep a dream journal? I did for a while and found that when I did I remembered a lot more of them. I figured out a bunch of interesting stuff

The facial hair could be real obvious, like a fear of it coming back. Or it could be something more complex like an issue from adolescence ( when it first grows in) reappearing in your subconscious. Who knows? Not me..........

This could be a real interesting thread. I remember years ago when I didn't dress much having a very powerful erotic dream about crossdressing. It was in the morning just before I woke up. Later that day I moved back home from college for the summer. I had a sense of possibiltiy for the summer that seemed to translate a lot into the crossdressing dream although I couldn't figure out how, it was just a feeling. I did know that it was not a coincidence that it happened that particular morning. That summer I fell in love for the first time and also had my first full sexual experiences. I have often thought that the dream had to do with me realizing that I was on the verge of something and that the crossdressing in the dream was incidental to something else. Funny how our mind works when we are unconscious.

let us know........

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for posting your thoughts. :) I was hoping this could be become not only a thread about my dreams, but about others.

I will bring this up with my psychologist. I keep saying psychologist because she's got a doctorate in psychology, one post doctorate certificate, and one post doctorate fellowship, she's also written a book a few chapters in a text book on psychology, and writes articles for psychological journals. I'm not sure if calling her my therapist would be the same thing though? By the way Andrea, that was an explanation to the forum. I promise I wasn't just telling you. :) I've really been trying to find a place to say that and "voila!" you gave me the avenue. Don't you feel lucky???

Ok, back to real life. I really think it's the fear of hair coming back and what it would mean to my gender dysphoria. It would not be a good time for me at all.

The good news is I didn't dream about it last night. :) Instead I dreamt about this bad guy who could turn people in to rabbits. :) He was experimenting on people in jail. Starsky & Hutch were helping me to try and stop him, but Starsky got turned into a rabbit. Then a group of people were bringing family in to meet some of the people in jail and it got a bit crazy. The good news there was no facial hair problems anywhere. :)

I did write my dreams down for quite a while after listening to Diane Cannon on the tonight show. She talked about how she kept a dream journal and so I started keeping one. I stopped eventually, but still go back and read it sometimes. :)

I agree your dream seems to have a lot of importance. I don't believe in coincidence because I think things happen for a reason. Even the ultra sucky moments. :?

I promise I'll let you know what she says. :)

Hi Girls

I do believe a person's dreams can sometimes be your sub conscious mind trying to tell you something. A few months ago I had an awful dream, actually a nightmare where all my teeth were falling out. It was very upsetting and I mentioned it to my wife. She reminded me that I had not visited the dentist for a checkup for well over a year.. I'm a chicken when it comes to dentists!
Anyways I made an appointment and sure enough he found two cavities.

I have dreams too when I'm dressed in uncomfortable places, or with family or freinds. It feels so real though and its very bothering. I also have dreams about being with men too, but very femme looking men.

They say all dreams have a reason though.
