Speaking of an Gawd allfull dream Beauty.

The Richest Man In The Valley
=============================

A rich landowner named Carl often rode around his vast estate so
he could congratulate himself on his great wealth. One day
while riding around his estate on his favorite horse, he saw
Hans, an old tenant farmer. Hans was sitting under a tree when
Carl rode by. Hans said, "I was just thanking God for my food."

Carl protested, "If that is all I had to eat, I wouldn't feel
like giving thanks."

Hans replied, "God has given me everything I need, and I am
thankful for it."

The old farmer added, "It is strange you should come by today
because I had a dream last night. In my dream a voice told me,
'The richest man in the valley will die tonight.' I don't know
what it means, but I thought I ought to tell you."

Carl snorted, "Dreams are nonsense," and galloped away, but he
could not forget Hans' words: "The richest man in the valley
will die tonight." He was obviously the richest man in the
valley, so he invited his doctor to his house that evening.
Carl told the doctor what Hans had said. After a thorough
examination, the doctor told the wealthy landowner,

"Carl, you are as strong and healthy as a horse. There is no
way you are going to die tonight."

Nevertheless, for assurance, the doctor stayed with Carl, and
they played cards through the night. The doctor left the next
morning and Carl apologized for becoming so upset over the old
man's dream. At about nine o'clock, a messenger arrived at
Carl's door.

"What is it?" Carl demanded. The messenger explained,

"It's about old Hans. He died last night in his sleep."

Hi Beauty... I'm sorry I haven't seen this thread sooner... (--)

Recurring dreams can really be frightening & they do tend to mess with our minds. I've had several recurring dreams of a different nature (I'll save that for another thread) but it sounds to me as if this is definitely something buried deep within your subconscious.

I have to go with Joselle on this one - it's definitely a subconscious thing. Could it be a psrt of your subconscious still in "disbelief" over the fact that you've gone through laser hair removal? That facial hair, an obvious staple of traditional masculinity, is no more?

Even laser hair removal is enough of a life change to have it sit in your subconsious which in turn manifests itself in your dreams.

Feel free to PM me on this anytime, sweetie. (--)

*hugs*

Hi,

I had another dream about my facial hair, but I think writing about it must have helped because this time the hair grew enough for me to use my electric razor. (that's hasn't been used for over a year) I had to shave a small amount of hair on the sides of my mouth. :) Which makes sense. I'll explain that in my laser hair thread though.

I just wanted to say thanks everyone for talking this out with me! :) You all obviously helped me! :)

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

Hi again,

So I had another one of those dreams last weekend, but I'm not really posting to talk about that. The last dream I had there wasn't lots of hair I was just going to have to shave for the first time in a year and that kind of stank. :) Still it wasn't like it was growing back in other places.

I think when I posted about the dream it kind of exorcised it.
So I finally remembered to talk to my therapist about it and she was kind of like, "I think you've got it" :) So I'm putting it to bed. I have a fear that laser hair removal isn't permanent and it shows in the dreams. Hopefully the dreams will stop. :)

Next week I'll have an update on my laser hair removal.

sounds like posting here helped you deal with the other world. Does this translate into the forums helping you cope generally? They sure help me!

Hi,

The past several nights I had two of those dreams again. The re-occuring theme is always that I know I've had laser hair removal treatments and that it's grown back.

The dream last night I had dark hair growing and it was razor stubble and I could see patches where hair wasn't growing anymore. It wasn't even my face that I was looking at, but it was me. The next thing you know the hair has grown so much that I can blow it using my upper lip. It sucked.

I wonder if it's because I'm over 3 mos since my last treatment and I have 4 or 5 hairs in the corners of my mouth and literally 3 under my chin. Yes, honest there are 3 hairs. :)

I'm trying to make the 4 month mark before I go back to get laser. You can't really see the hairs in the corner of my mouth, but the 3 under my chin are like the hairs you get when you first start getting hair on your face. They are wirey.

The dream before this one I dreamed that I had hair growing on my upper lip. It was almost a reddish color.
I thought I had exorcised them, but I guess not.

Maybe it's the thought of venturing out soon that is causing your subconscious to raise the fears of this outing to a more conscious level, and the hair growth in your dream is a combination of the real growth and a fear of not passing.

Hi all,

Yeah, Beauty, I think Donna may have something there. Still, it's so very tough to interpret dreams because they're such a playground of symbolism. They're one of those instances where our mind has a field day with itself through imagery, fantasy, deep wishes, desires, and fears.

As usual, the person best suited to figure out the possible meanings of your dreams is yourself. I have to say, though, that, to me, your "facial hair" dreams seem open to a pretty straightforward interpretation. As a transsexual, you have concerns about future experiences related to how successful you'll be at passing and those concerns crop up in the world of your dreams.

Maybe it might be helpful to you to remind yourself that facial hair is a reality for many GG's as well. It doesn't make them any less of a woman (although their "typical femininity quotient" might take a bit of a hit). I guess this depends, for you, on just how much of a feminine woman you want to be. Like I said, this might be helpful to remember. Or it might not. I may be totally out in left field, here (heh, I usually am).

Anyway, I wish you success in the permanent eradication of those pesky little critters. Just don't get rid of your dreams; even the "gawd awful" ones are healthy for the mind.

Love,
CJ
