neighbors revisited

This is a thought in response to the thread about the neighbors. Some folks here will go out and the neighbors will see them. Virginia actually said to a neighbor one time "oh that was Virginia driving my truck" Apparently the neighbor didn't realize that Virginia was the man he was talking to.

So here's the question. How many of us have gone out in our car and been seen. and when asked later in male mode, passed off the lady driving their car as a sister, friend, or basically just some woman that wasn't them?

And if you did that, was it fun?

Jenny Boylan talks about passing herself off as James Boylan's sister a few times. Of course as someone who was transitioning her perspective on this would be much different than mine. I'd think the idea of a secret identity, this other person coming and going that is really us, would be a real hoot. If I could pull it off I'd probably start trying to be seen. Of course that would mean shaving my beard.......

OH YES,

Living out in the country and neighbors are well apart everyone knows everyone's car or truck. One day when I got home my wife told me someone call and ask who was that women I seen driving your truck. So guess what she no longer let's me go out dress :(

But the worst thing that ever happen was when we first moved in and I was wearing a dress and heels and vacuuming the floors and someone walk in to say hello and welcome and had a dozen fresh eggs.
He never know the difference and to this day we still laugh about it. :P

I once drove up the street with my daughter on the way to a location for a photoshoot , I got to the top end of our street when a female neighbour walked out of her front gate heading down the street.
She recognised the car and my daughter and waved , I just smiled at her and kept driving , nothing was ever said.

I guess I am reading more into your comments than I should but are you saying we can pass and then lie about it if we get confronted or is my/ our responses to questions just come with the territory?

I could have told my neighbor that it was me "in drag," but given his health status and his being "old school," perhaps I prevented a rise in his blood pressue.

Anyway, my feeling is what I read that the eyes see a woman, the brain registers "a woman" and unless, something we do changes that, most people are so involved in their own little world that we are just a shooting star and we are gone.

Love ya,

Virginia

I had an incident similar to Merinda's. Wife and I are part of the Neighborhood Association and Watch Group. One day we were leaving the house, I was en fem, and as we started down the street, we passed the head of the Association. She waved, we waved, and I kept on driving. At the next meeting, she did not even mention it. LOL

Virginia it's hard to read too much into anything coming from my devious mind......

The question is that given that you could interact with someone briefly as someone else, not having him know it was your male you (Andy, I think it is?) but maybe even pass yourself off as your own sister, did you get a kick out of doing this? I sure as hell would.

WHo hasn't wanted at sometime to go somewhere no one knows us and reinvent ourselves completely? Do a Walter Mitty so to speak? How many here do this by presenting as the opposite gender? Hide in plain sight so to speak.

On the other hand there may be some here to who none of this makes any sense. I'd appreciate hearing about that also.

Thanks, "AB" can I call you AB?

First as my own SL is fond of saying, "It ain't braggin if you can do it!"

I can remember my first couple of "outting" that I took to the afternoon movies and some of my interactions with folk, I was still trying to "find my self" so to speak and being athleticly inclined, at first it was like game, a challenge to see if I "could win." i.e., pass if you will and I did,

As my friend here guided me through this and I began a much more introspective study and a couple of epithanies later, I began to realize that as I say, "I am Virginia and Virginia is me" so a "meeting" with my neighbor was to me no big deal, Virginia was just being friendly by waving! End of that story.

As for my response to him when questioned about the blond in my truck, I fell back on my current philosophy in that or any similiar situation. I use the "NEED TO KNOW?!" approach and my neighbor just did NOT need to know.

Love ya,

Virginia

I live in a close neighborhood. Houses are anywhere from 50 to 100' apart. There was a time when first venturing out, I had to drive out of the neighborhood, about 3 miles away, pull into the local Hilton parking lot, finish the makeup and put on the wig.
Right now, my natural hair is longer than most of my wigs. The neighbors have gotten desensitized over the past few years as to me being out wearing women's shorts, etc. I do keep it toned down though.
I've never had a close call but I still try to drive out of the neighborhood in stealth.
Just yesterday morning while at the dunkin donuts, I wore a white v neck tee and denim capris. Out of the corner of my eye I saw 2 construction workers looking at each other and shaking their heads. Hmm...a male wearing female attire!
Most of my customers are used to me dressing this way. Maybe that's why most of them have disappeared lately. Hmm....
Anyone want to buy a printing business?

Hi JoAnn,

Several years ago I visited Mystic, Conn and the ?Seaport Museum? That was so neat, Those guys really put it on the line, sailing out of there into the North Atlantic, no radar. no GPS. It was an interesting tour. Oh, and I have stayed at the Hilton. So that was you I saw changing in the parking lot. Just kidding and it was several years ago anyway.
You know you need to talk to Auntie Jeannie, maybe you two could merge your printing businesses. Call it CD's Print 4-U or 2 Gals & a Printer. Of course you'd have to accept Marley as the security guard.

Anyway, keep the faith, hon and enjoy your Magical Mystery Tour!

Love ya,

Virginia

I have visited Mystic Seaport as well. Was the whaling ship open to visitors when you were there? Sixteen guys all sleeping together in one tiny space in the bow, the ceiling so low you couldn't stand up straight. Not even a door between them and the area where they rendered the whale blubber into oil.

And they would live that way for more than a year at a time!

It isn't a matter of left wing or right wing, or even politics at all, to recognize what we owe to the generations that have gone before us.

I have frequently visited my mother in law's neighbor while dressed. We have made it our "Girl" time and pass the time chatting while having coffee or tea. I must admit that the first time that I walked up the steps to her kitchen wearing a dress and heels was pretty frightening.
