Last night, a TG friend ogf mine took me to my first support group meeting. I really had a good time meeting some nice people formerly of whom I only knew of online. What a 3 dimentional experience!
I'd like to hear some stories about anyone's feelings about your support group experiences.

Hay Jo,
I miss my old Tri-Ess group so much it hurts. We were a fun group with get togethers and once a month going out somewhere or other ( dinner, stage play etc.)
I miss it so much, we had people in for makeup classes, style and dressing what ever. You can't go wrong with a good support group.

I am a member of the LNT Tri-Ess chapter here in Dallas, TX. We have a wonderful bunch of Ladies. Usually anywhere from 10-20 including wives show up for our monthly meeting. We usually have a program that ranges from Wig maintenance to visit form a local TG consular to Show and Tell sessions. Sometimes we just have a social meeting. LOL Also once a month we have a outing on Saturday. Usually it involves some kind of shopping with dinner before or after the shopping. Then sometimes it will be a play or concert outing, where we can get all fancy dressed.

Yes, now I can see how wonderful these groups can be (depending on good people).
Going out with one or two CD/TG friends can be fun, but actually interacting with 20 or 30 others (all dressed) was quite the experience for me!

As I posted somewhere, our group TriEss = Lambda Beta Rho = Ladies of the Blue Ridge, have meet here at our home twice. We had, I think eight the first time and eleven this time and it is great. We share experiences, have had the police speak at a meeting in the local Metropolitan Community Church and the owner of a Spa allowed us to hold a meeting in her shop and she gave skin care and make-up tips and did some make-overs. In November we have a professional photographer coming to take some pictures and I am sure, I am sure, I am sure if we ask nicely she will air brush some of them

. Wouldn't it be cool to have a portrait style print of you in a three feet by four feet big, gawdy gold frame hanging in your house over the mantel or something?
Some of our members are not quite ready to go out to eat or in public for that matter, but are comfortable in coming to someones home where they feel they are among friends and away form prying eyes and that is one reason I have offered our home and it seems to work great.
Hope each of you can find a group to share with, in person. You will find, as I say, that we are nice folk!

I joined a local support group last October and have made all but one monthly meeting since. I now have several friends I communicate with and a couple of us visit each other once in a while.
Two other members of the group have joined this forum.
