I'm sorry

Post by DeeDee »

I'm sorry because of my present situation I can't post more, but I do read them all and my heart goes out to all having problems. This is a great site for advice, believe me it is. My problem now...well a 93 year old dad who is probably getting alzheimers and he's had some violent outbursts towards my SO. It puts me in a bad position since I love him (of course), and her,but it is affecting our relationship. Now, for those of those who don't know, yes he knows about Dee, but this is beyond that. Whether I have to make some very nasty decisions soon...I don't know. So, we all have problems and my SO has been great although its wearing on her also. I have a mini-vacation planned for Halloween in Marco Island (my B-Day) so hope that helps everyone here. We do what we can, but hate it when real life intrudes :( All will be fine and all you girls with problems...hang in there it all works out

I think you've got enough on your plate rather than worrying about this forum.

Alzheimers is tough deal with, but do what you have to. I wish there was a cure.

Sweetie, we're all here for you, if you just need folks to vent to.

If it makes you feel any better, my wife's paternal grandmother would always ask for knives from my wife, saying 'I don't like that boy, I need to kill him. Get me a knife.', or ask her to stab me for her.

DeeDee - No apologies necessary, girlfriend. We're sorry to hear what you're currently dealing with, but know that, in a sense, your dad is not your dad anymore but a child, he's reverting back towards childhood and you are now the parent. :( My paternal grandmother was the same way with her Alzheimer's, and it's never an easy situation. :sigh: Take care of the family first, your cyber family will be here waiting for you, and we'll leave a light on in the window!

Michelle - We're so glad to know that your wife never acted upon her grandmother's wishes/demands!! We'd be without a very beautiful lady, my dear . . . you!

Yeah, it's horrible to have to watch a loved one go through that, my own paternal grandmother would sometimes recognize us, and sometimes she wouldn't.

Dee, like I said, we're all here for ya, girl.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. These things are very painful, with the only consolation being that no one wants to outlive their own children. I'd agree strongly that you have more than enough on your plate right now. I hope occaisionally reading the posts here will bring you some enjoyment in a difficult time.

My 86 year old mother passed in April 2008, still phobic and bigoted about transgender issues. Your situation is at least vaguely similar to what mine was, so I think I understand your personal conflict.

However, this is a temporary problem. When the problem is resolved, you will still miss the problem.

Hugs,

Thanks Anne, my Bday was a lot of fun although I fell asleep early. I'll post about my adventure when I get over the tiredness from the trip...but I did submit a pic to my gallery for now.
