If it makes you uncomfortable, just wear mens underwear to the doctors. What is it you are trying to prove by never wearing them?
On the other hand, if there is an important feeling attached to not wearing mens underwear, then that is your reason for wearing them to the doctors office, and you can try to accept that.
You'll probably find that the doctor is pretty professional about it. This is after all the same man who sticks his finger up in you for the prostate exam. Panties are small potatoes

Agreed that doctors aren't going to find your choice of undergarment particularly surprising. You won't be the first patient they've seen who cross-dresses and it might even be a way to help you get comfortable with accepting who you are. The same goes for polished toenails and anything else you can think of along these lines.

Since I went to my doctor with admitting to my gender problems, I now go wearing my panties, bra, earrings, etc. and admitted that I had been crossdressing for a number years, and does he does not bat an eyelid nor does the office staff they just accept it. So the answer is just take courage and do it.
I've been wearing panties 24/7 for the past 2 years, SO goes along with black non lacey, during annual medical check Dr has said nothing about underwear.
Nor have I admitted to anything.
My doctor knows I am TG, but then too she is one of the premier TG doctors here in Dallas, TX.
But on the other side of things, there is NO WAY I would wear panties when I go and see my doctor at the VA Hospital. LOL
It's kind of dreary, but there are two places I never wear panties: the airport and the doctor's office. I wear men's briefs and console myself that it's only temporary. I don't like educating people who don't have an excuse for not knowing better. And I sure as heck don't want them distracted from their primary tasks.
Celia, I feel the same way. I guess it's one of those things where, you do it if you have to, if you feel you really need it, but if you don't have to, why set yourself up for problems?
I am a vessel of the Goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.
Good point. While I don't think you'd get any comments regardless of what you wore, I do think it's less appropriate to wear something overtly sexy. Some basic cotton panties can be perfectly feminine without demanding attention.

At one doctor visit, he suddenly decided to check my prostate. Pulled down my pink lacy panties - never said a word except to warn my that the prostate was a bit enlarged.
They've seen it all.

I've worn plain black panties to the gym and locker room many times and no one has noticed. If they think anything at all they probably think they are just unisex.
