crouching shopper- hidden dragon

so here I sit with my skater-girl cap pulled low to my eyes some simple brown-leather sandals on my feet( and Summer clothes!!!).

<<--In that last thread(OMG-Fight) there was some talk of being confronted while out about non-violence as a way to deal:

when confronted by a threatening situation

non-violence is a style that can involve motion.

----FIRST: Presence. This is judgment to
preventing conflict in the first place.

---SECOND: If you feel the beginning of a "situation" be aware of your Stance--

-protect your center of gravity and keep your
shoulder-line perpendicular to WHOEVER.

----THIRD: Begin controlling the space between you and whoever...hopefully by moving away from
them...keeping out of arms reach...awareness sharpened.

---people seek a training-style to learn to gracefully deal "within arms reach"

-- there are interesting things to be learned about this.

These take daily determination to learn.

FROM the book of PEACE:

"Seeing me before him the enemy attacks,
but by then I am standing safely behind him"

In fact I think I want to join them. So I am taking the NYC police test this summer! Wish me luck...

--- And by the way Lorna, I think you would make a very cute cop-lady,--------bye for now and I hope you all have a fun weekend---

Be's cool pose

HI Be,
The thing I remember most about that photo is your cool-pose---it MAKES that shot great.
---I guess I imagine STANCE TO AVOID CONFLICT as being like that
---not that exact way of standing but more the idea of choosing how you stand to use the power of body-language.
---I might be hard to follow on this
:-k :-k :-k
----( can you post that picture here???)
---I wonder if Deborah can teach us all self-defense in a Vogue-style?
(now that would be cooool)

I know of that of which you speak. I have never heard anyone attempt to describe it before, but it is very powerful, and stops most people in there tracks, I think the reason it works is it begins to address the issue before one finds themselves in a position, where they may feel they need to protect themselves from being humiliated, or embarrassed.

Thanks for putting it into words Tea-Cake.

Thanks Tea cake! And very good suggestions too! Good to remember... :)

That's too funny tho... imagine... if only we could go to our jobs en femme... What would Lorna be like as a cop? She'd probably be like the female officer on that show Reno 911 (on Comedy Central, its a spoof of the show COPS) ... tough one minute, but then fussing over appearance the next...
