Hi Wendy,
I was a member of the Gulf Gender Alliance for a short time.

But they have given up due to poor member support. Officially, they closed their doors earlier this year. The New Orleans GLBT center may still have some support for Crossdressers.

That's about all the support options I know of.
As Carol Ann stated, Gonzales is a nice area. I hope you like seafood! It's plentiful and cheap! The big downfall of Southern Louisiana is the humidity. It doesn't get very cold down there (temperature wise), but the humidity makes it feel much worse. Attitudes vary, depending on where you are. You'll just have to "feel out" the area you move to.
I'll be heading back for a short vacation to see my family this summer. If you need/ want any info. Let me know.
If you've ever moved before, you know the perils of relocating. Video is best for documenting anything valuable. It makes dealing with Insurance companies a little easier. Personally, I hate moving. Sometimes it's necessary, but I don't
ever want to do it again. I wish you the best of luck in your move.
I'm just a PM away, if you have other questions.
Hugs,
Kyra
