Finally Came Out to Wife

Post by Michelle M »

As the subject suggests, I finally told my wife. It went very well. She was a lot more accepting than I expected. She asked several questions, but overall the tone was light. She stated it was okay for me to dress with these three rules:
1. Make sure the blinds are down so the neighbors can't see.
2. No going outside the house except for costume events.
3. Expect to get laughed at (by my wife).
I found them to be reasonable rules. We talked about various aspects of my dressing, the background, what I want to do, etc. I'm going to take it slow (baby steps) on what I expose her to and work my way up. In a few days, I'll start wearing heels around the house to start getting her used to it.

Thanks for all your advice,
Michelle

When I told my SO she was concerned that I was having an affair. There was a sigh of relief on her part. Over the last 15ish years there have been several compromises made. Marriage evolves, if it is to stay healthy. Honest dialogue is good, and finding in right fit for the both of you will take time. I am glad things are going well so far.
So I concluded that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to enjoy themselves as long as they can. People should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of there labor, for these are gifts from God.

Well done, Michelle !

You are now in the company of Milton Berle, Flip Wilson, Benny Hill, and the Monty Python gang. Laughter is better than scorn.

Well " HALLELUJAH ", it's about time .....LOL.

I'm glad to hear that your wife didn't explode and fly off the handle like you feared. Now just take it slow with her and keep the lines of communication open. It's good to see that you have agreed upon a compromise to allow you to dress for now. With open dialog in the future you may be allowed more freedom but don't try and force too much on her at present. Let her get use to seeing you en femme a little at a time until she adjusts to the idea, then she may want or allow you to dress more.

I know that a great weight has been lifted from your shoulders by telling her and her reaction to the news so now you don't have to hide in the basement any longer. So on that note I say congradulations and welcome to the club of " out of the closet " crossdressers. -wel- =D>

I'm glad it went well on initial disclosure, Michelle. And if your avatar is a picture of YOU, then your wife might be surprised to find out how well you've done on your own.

My wife seemed very accepting before we were married. Now I think she may have some reservations.

Sadly, there is not much communication in regard to CDing these days. Not to the point of saying no, but she radiates an aura of disapproval.

Small steps really are important. Maybe mine were (are) too small.

I hope this goes well for you! I look forward to hearing more on how things are progressing.

Best wishes,
Andrea
And it feels like me...On a good day
