The cross-dressers cure.

A "cure" does not necessarily mean to stop crossdressing. It means changing the nature of crossdressing from something that controls us to something we control--and to crossdress as much, or as little, as supports our overall development as a human being.
This is something I have believed for some time now.
Agree or disagree And if not could you give your reasons.

Wow, Darlene, that's a whole new way of looking at it.

My take on it? If you say, "I've got a cure for crossdressing," then in my mind, you're saying that you've found a way to stop it completely.

Now, if you phrase it as, " I've found a cure for out-of-control crossdressing," then I can go with the new meaning.

Hi Darlene,

"To cure, or not to cure, that is the question", to paraphrase the Bard.

I would define a 'cure' as something which results in one not feeling bad about something which is troubling one.

If you think that, and I quote, "changing the nature of crossdressing from something that controls us to something we control--and to crossdress as much, or as little, as supports our overall development as a human being.", unquote, fits in with that, then I agree with your premise.

Personally, I prefer to paraphrase Descartes, "I be, therefore I am", and am content to leave it at that.

Kind regards,

Caroline.

WAY TO GO SIS!!!
My take on what you are saying is that "once a crossdresser always a crossdresser!" so the one factor is that of controlling it and if it does "get out of control" the "cure" for us is to control it so it does not have a negative impact on us by "influencing " those around us!
Some may disagree but once someone meets the definition of a CD'er (whatever that may be in anyone's mind) it is there!! It can be supressed or repressed, but it was, is and will always be part of us unto the grave!
I love it!!!!
Love ya too,
Deborah

For first 42 years of my life it controlled me, I was driven to dress mostly for sexual reasons. I quit dressing for eight years, and would not have started again if I had not been set free from that. Where I was at, and the things I was into would not have been welcomed on this board.

"I be, therefore I am", #-o Sorry but I could not be content to leave it at that.

What I am talking about is being free to choose to cross-dress or not. If I could find some other way of having my emotional needs met, as well or better than the activity of cross-dressing supplies, I now would be free to stop cross-dressing in a heat beat.

Being as I have not been able to do that I choose to crossdress as much, or as little, as supports my overall development as a human being.

Cure?
That implies to me that there is something wrong with crossdressing. Once I finally embraced this side of me I soon came to realize that I wasn't half the man I could be until I let my feminine side become a true part of me. I finally feel complete and would never want to be cured of this!

There was a time when I first embraced this that it dominated my thoughts and every spare moment, but that's the nature of this lifestyle. Straight out of the box most of us want to go wide open and after awhile we start to get tired and realize we need to pace ourselves. I guess it's just a matter of finding what pace each of us want to travel.

Hugs,
Stef

Well, Back years ago I decided no more but as you can tell I have not as of yet. SO I think it is something in the deepest part of our nature or make up (not war paint either). So I do not think there is anything wrong with us except when we do not control it and it controls us.

This is no different than a man wearing is hair super long or a woman wearing their hair super short. it is what we are and what the Lord wants us to do.

For those who are interested, the quote that Darlene used to start this thread can be found here: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepage ... essays.htm

This is a very interesting site, with a lot of information and thought-provoking material on it, which I can recommed reading.

Hi Ladies!

I totally agree with Stef and for me there´s no substitute for crossdressing. It gives me joy, satisfaction and strenght I need to survive in everyday life. It calms me down if I´m tense and stressed. If I feel great it makes me feel even better. I really don´t care if I´m in control of my dressing or not. I just enjoy it whenever I can. :) :)

Thanks to every one for your imput here.

My hard drive crashed so I was unable to respond, but am now back on line. I will not try and make up for what I lost but will for the most part pick up what I can from here, and get back into the swing of things.

Glad to be back on line with you all.

Hi Darlene,

That was a really neat way to look at it, but I am not sure it is that simple for me. It is not just dressing when I want, although that would be great. It is a matter of expressing this whole other part of me. I have always wanted a canopy bed. I think they are gorgeous. I want all the frilly blankets, pillows, comforters, shams, skirt, and canopy that match. I want to be able to have my toenails and nails polished even when in drab. I want to be able to wear long dangly earrings or pantyhose no matter what I am wearing.

For me it is not crossdressing controlling me, or me controlling crossdressing. It is about being able to express what makes me feel good, just as the guy with the tattoos of his manly conquests. For me, a cure would be universal acceptance.
Hope that helps
Elizabeth

I Have found the replies in this thread interesting. Universal acceptance is something that in my opinion falls into the category of one of the things that we/I can not change.

I don't care how many Laws one manages to change, it will not become a reality Ever!!!

So where dose that leave you/us? A prisoner? A Slave? Caught in something that will prevent us from ever being happy?

For some of us maybe that is the way it will continue to be. I believe that for those who are being controlled, that is the price we will have to pay. Like it or not. So consequently we are driven deeper into our fantasy world in an attempt to find peace with ourselves which includes the desire to find universal acceptance.

As long as our happiness hinges upon the rest of society accepting us we are allowing society to take control our happiness. I do not want acceptance from the masses, because the masses are asses.

And that is just my opinion, that is the way I see it.
