Wife and I just got home from an Alaskan Cruse on Princess Cruise Line. The one thing I noticed when I would read the Ship's Daily Event List was twice a day there was a LGBT get together. I think that was really great of Princess Cruise Lines.

Question....Do the other Cruise Lines do the same thing?

That's interesting, encouraging for us. I havn't been on a cruise since my honeymoon. Need to check into the price range before my wife is no longer able, at least we will be spending 3 nights on the beach soon with our boys - havn't done that in two years.

I have heard of some that have special cruises that cater to TG and alternative lifestyles,. I saw adverts for a Mediterranean and a Carribeian, I think, last year, and I seem to recall one of our members went on a cruise in the last couple of years? If the clientele was sufficient to warrant it, I am sure the other lines may have similar events to that you described. I do know that there are crew who are LGBT on some ships, and there is special training to make the crew more LGBT friendly according to a couple of travel mags I got last year.

In 2007 I was on a cruise between the islands of Hawaii, but there were no special events, which was OK since I was there celebrating my retirement and my initiation of RLT. Dunno what changes might have been made since then.

We have a cruise scheduled for March. It'll be aboard the new Disney liner. So I doubt there will be an LGBT gathering. I could be wrong.

As for affording the trip, we've paid a little over time until it was all paid for. Except for expenses during the cruise

Last year Tri-Ess HEF (Holiday En Fem) which is the annual convention was held on an Caribbean cruise, out of New Orleans. IIRC, about 200 hundred attended from all over the country. I did not get to go, but from what I found out from those that did go, they had no problems what so ever. They even had signs telling where various events were being held on board. My friend said that many of the passengers asked what Tri-Ess was and most were OK with it when it was explained to them.

Also there is a Travel Agency n Houston. TX that is won and run by a TG MTF and book LGBT cruises all the time.

Pardon my ignorance but what does LGBT stand for ??
