Finally Free of worry.

Post by Wendae »

I've been gradually doing things to get public exposure(not that kind! :lol: )Scheduling my therapist appointment when there would be more folks in the waiting room. Going to drive thrus. The Tri-ess meetings allow me to come in contact with others while going to and from the meetings. I had started checking out while dressed to speak to a clerk while a fair amount of folks waiting to do the same. This past week end I drove over dressed and checked in with a male clerk. I had to show my ID which of course had my male photo and name. No reaction from the clerk. My room wasn't ready and I had to wait around for and hour and half. Lots of exposure. Check out was with a young female clerk. Nothing caused me any embarassment and I was pretty much accepted for what I seemed to be. On the way home I decided to push my luck and stopped at a CVS to get the Sunday paper. It was busy and I stood in line behind 4 people and in front of 3. I passed all of experiences or at least without incident. I'm finially FREE !!. There is only one more test and that is going to a restaurant and enjoying a meal. It's been baby steps all the way and staying in my comfort zone but the experiece of this past Sunday was great and forced me to be confident in myself and my appearance. A huge weight has been lifted off me and I feel wonderful.

I know that for some of you this is old hat and you have been getting out for some time but we all have to start sometime. For me it has a been a long wait.

It is good you are getting out more.

It is such a great feeling to realize that we have let ourselves out of the hiding place we have locked ourselves in.

Awww that's a lovely story Wendae ^^_||

I love hearing about this kind of thing, and it's not dissimilar to my own experiences. So often we get worked up about what others will think or how they'll react and then it turns out to be an anticlimax if that's the right word? So often people just dont notice, and of those who do notice? Increasing numbers just don't care. It's more about how you act that they're interested in. And that's the way it should be IMO.

Good stuff, and good for you xxx. Thanks for sharing your experience, I'd love to hear more...

Congratulation Wendae. Glad everything went well for you. We do things that we want to do when we are ready to do them. And once we do it we wonder what was holding us back. GREAT JOB \:D/

A long wait, but by the sound of it worth it, I suspect that this is a whole fresh adventure you are departing on, enjoy it.

Good work Wendae. Sounds like you did everything right, just being yourself and being confident. Nice to know that most people just don't really care what you wear, so long as it is within acceptable reason, is it not?

Great news, Wendae!
I'm sure you'll be fine on your next venue. I've been to many restaurants, all across the US. I've never had a bad experience. When in unfamiliar territory, I ask the advice of others or simply call and ask the manager.
"TG Friendly" is mostly a familiar term and if they don't understand, I'm very blunt. To be frank about it, most businesses don't care what you look like, they just want your money.

When the time comes, please let us know about your experience. There are many girls who have not walked past the threshold of their own homes yet. Positive stories, such as yours, give courage to them as they decide where their walk of life will take them.

Hugs,
kyra
