My Wife

Post by Lori Q. »

I've never had to go through what most cd's go through with their wives/SO's. I told my wife before we even started dating and she was ok with it. I have no limits whatsoever. But now she is very ill and I stay home to take care of her. She hasn't been able to participate in a few years. Right now she is in a skilled nursing center for bedsores. She is a very stubborn woman and she wouldn't listen to me when I kept telling her she needed to use her walker to get around instead of sitting in her wheelchair all the time. Oh btw, she can't walk without a walker and she can't walk very far with the walker. Last year she was in the hospital and nursing centers for 7 months. She's on dialysis also.

I'm really sorry to hear that about your wife, Lori. My father (who's 92) also has problems with bedsores. Part of it is that he is stubborn per se and has trouble listening to advice from other people - which has to do with pride as much as anything. But another aspect is motivation (like why bother to get out of bed? It's so much trouble and is it going to be worth it? Those sorts of thoughts).

Thank-you for replying. You are right about listening to advice and also about the motivation.

Welcome to my life, as like you I have the same problems only difference is we found a doctor who cleared up her sores. Now it took time but like you said she needed to get out of that power wheelchair and MOVE.

Also like you my wife knew before we were married as my loving mother told her one evening and showed her pictures of her daughter and for what ever reason my wife was totally turned on and we had a wonder time in our early marriage. Let's see now going on 49 years and since we retired and moved she has ask me to cool it a little and stop going out [-X . Other then that I am a very lucky happy cressdresser.

Oh by the way -wel- to the forum (--)

As a while back she got a phone call asking who was that women driveing you'al truck, now hon we now live out in the woods and folks around here are always looking to see who or what is driveing by.

Anywhy she is so afraid folks around here will talk and she just could not take it, sorry but true. Ain't like living back in New Orleans.
