back after some years

Hello everyone, it's been a few years since I posted a message, I really thought I was "cured". I had a minor health issue which turned out to be nothing, but was still strong enough to make me start thinking and gradually I lost interest in crossdressing. After a year I even started to throw away several skirts, bra's and panties (somewhat as a selftest to see how far I wanted to go). Shoes almost went away as well but I thought they were too expensive to dispose of them. I had no urge anymore to dress, even when being alone for a few day's at home, an opportunity I would seldom miss After almost 2 years I thought myself ready to take a more severe test (being alone at home for a week) and started to read a few crossdresser stories just to see if I had become "immune". And then woooops the urge was there again. I couldn't wait to buy a new bra and the following day I bought a skirt and enjoyed the time-alone even more intensely.
It's so strange that a same person can change so abruptly from one state into the other, makes me wonder witch of the two states represents "me".
So, back again.…

Welcome back and hello from me! I'm glad that the health scare worked out ok.
It's good that you didn't purge everything! Shoes were a step too far

(pun intended)
Although I've thrown things before, at the moment I can't envisage my lingerie going
Anywhere!

Hey Mány,

back.
It hard to tell what triggers the urge sometimes, and even harder to understand why.

Both...? It's just that you don't understand the drivers in your situation.

Hi Mány, welcome back and hello from me!
Long term, purging does not work! Pack your clothes away somewhere safe, because you're always going to want them back!

Welcome back Mány! If it's any consolation - I "gave it up" for 29 years! I thought the relationship I was in had "cured" me of all that nonsense! Not so much! Still - on the plus side - the winter is coming on and all those summer dresses are going to have to be put away in preference for ... more shopping!
Hugs Ginny x

Hi Mány--
It does seem strange that you weren't what is called "white-knuckling" it during those years--not fighting the urges or having a big problem with it. Then all of the sudden--there it was again.
I don't know what would happen if I had to stop for some reason. The urge is not there much at all these days, and I dress out of necessity for my role as a group facilitator when I do dress. I enjoy it, but it's not a need right now. Yet I wouldn't want to purge. I've compared it to knowing I have an airplane in a hanger at the local airport--I can go fly anytime I need to, even if I don't go there for months at a time.
Welcome back. If people quit and stay in that quitting mode, they don't generally come back and tell us about it.
