the lesson in stage fright

Post by Marda »

How about "thought substitution" instead of "coping with few privacy breaks" ... long ago, I was at a gig where the musicians told a story before doing a song ... One story is famous, about a young musician being coached about how to deal with "stage fright" :-# the "trick" in overcoming such , is to imagine everyone in the audience, sitting there in their underwear" ... So, I'm beginning to think that "worse" than being unable to wear nice stuff [-( , is "being "imagined " by a frightened musician 8-[ , to be wearing "ugly"stuff. :-k

You may be surprised by what some of the musicians are imagining when they look at the audience, especially those irresponsible trombone players trying to look interested during the slow movement.......
