At our family counselling session today, our counselor was telling me about how much courage it takes to dress and go out in public and how I impressed him by going out. Then he shared this little tidbit: He is counselling a young man - 14. This child wants to transistion SRS, if you will, nothing really stange about that -----------------well this young man is with a foster family ---so!!!! Well he's been ban from public school because he refuses to dress in male clothing --------nothing yet, huh!?
How about he's Africian-American? still nothing?? The Coup De Gras!
He wants to be "a white chick!" Acts, talks, dresses the part and refuses any attempts to change him!!! Think about it!!

Hi all,

Deborah,

Sounds like this young person is heading into a nightmare straight out of the latest Wayans Bros. movie. God, I wish him luck!

The Gloved One in a foster home, eh? Now, there's an unpleasant thought. :?

Love,
CJ

He should go see that Wayans Bros. movie as soon as it's out! rotf rotf rotf

But on a more serious note - you mean he actually wants to do the Michael Jackson thing? When he dresses, does he actually use light foundation & whatnot?

If you want to change your gender then more power to you, but you shouldn't ever be ashamed of your race. Wow... :(

Hi all,

This definitlely shows that just when you think you have it bad, there is always someone who has more to deal with than yourself.

This poor boy must be going through hell. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be coping with being a cd and a desire to be a different race, at the same time. Talk about no man's land?

Love always,
Elizabeth

I don't know that I'm ashamed of my race, but sometimes I wish I were Asian. :)

Lorna,
I am so glad to see you back. This is evidently a true happening. My counselor told me on Thursday and the fact that he was thrown out of school becaue he refuses to dress "en drab" says a lot for his courage, but it is really tough to get your mind around his wanting to be a white girl!
The counselor said he is "very good in his presentation." It is just beyond this poor 'ole blonde to comprehend it!

I can only relate what my counselor told me and I think the only reason he shared it was my "potential" interest in starting a Tri-Ess chapter here.
Anyway, I had 100 ?'s but dared not ask at the time, but I will next week.
One is I wonder if there is an age limit on SRS?
Anyway I think this is interesting and I will keep you posted if I hear more.
Love,
Deborah

This topic reminds me of a study that I heard of conducted many years ago, where they placed a bunch of black children in a room with black dolls and white dolls and most of the black children wanted to play with the white dolls.

Side note: I have bought both black AND white dolls for my niece, just to teach her that all dolls are equally pretty. :P

Anyway, here's a very interesting article that you can perhaps pass on to your counselor who can pass it on to the child.

Lorna, Thanks so much! What a neat article. I will definitely pass it on to my counselor. Of course he could not share anything with me as to why the child was in a foster home, but he indicated that the child was intelligent, (well-grounded) he just either felt he was or wanted to be a 14 year old white girl. Sorry, its beyond what this blonde's mental capacity is.
Thanks again for the article.

Can you see Michael J in Jail with all the others, when everyone that I know of does not believe this stories of not. With his millions they will keep it in court for 40 years. Gee
