Washing your clothes

Post by Cindy Michelle »

I am a senior who has been very closeted my whole life like many of you (I think). My wife allows me to dress, neck down, on occasion. Women's jeans and blouse. She has always laundered all of my outterware. I have discretely laundered my underware out of her site in a garage sink and air dried in a hidden area of the garage. My problem arises from the fact that we are moving and to a rental without a garage sink or hidden drying area. Question----I suspect there are others like me (I hope). Where do you wash and dry your hidden stash of clothes. I'd like to leave everything in the laundry bin, but the padded panties are a no-no on her 'permission' list and I have no desire to upset the apple cart of my marriage. Any ideas? Cindy

Oh my, that’s a conundrum indeed. I know there probably aren’t any surfers here (other than I) on this forum, but as a surfer we need to regularly clean our wetsuits. I’d take my into the shower with me for a thorough washing, then use the hand blow dryer on it rather than putting it in a tumble dryer. Perhaps you can use that technique. It’ll give you the privacy needed to wash your undergarments, and drying the light weight fabric by hand would probably go very quickly. Just a thought.

For for starters you need to put away the padded panties and not wear them if it is on her no no list. Or you need to re-discuss the list. Second you need to have a talk with her about your under things. Let her know you have done them in the garage and ask her where you should do them now? Hopefully you will be happily surprised but be ready for a discussion. Good luck what ever you do. But I have found honestly is the best path if take up front. But if after that many years it could cause issues. Only you have an idea on how your wife may deal with it. But something additional things to think about. She may already know what you have and you do your things in the garage. And if you are down sizing your living foot print it is more likely she will come accross them. Usually better they know before they come accross something.

I wish you the best of luck which ever path you choose.

I do all the laundry, so it isn't an issue.

Maybe you could too?

Around our house seeing my panties and my wife's tighty-whities happily tumbling in the dryer together is a rather symbolic of our love and relationship. In other words, the husband and wife that crossdress together, stays together ..^..

Cindy, I'm agreeing with Kimberly. It seems that no matter how hard we try to hide things, spouses tend to know anyway. You've been breaking the rules for a while now, you had to figure one day you would get caught (yeah, it hasn't happened just yet).

You're going to need to talk about it all soon enough. Maybe you two can agree that she doesn't look when you do your unmentionals. Maybe the dryer has a delicate setting so you dont have to air dry (actually many dryers have an air dry setting). If you have a guest room, maybe you can air dry there on a rack just for that purpose -- out of site out of mind.

Good luck with your decisions.

Go to a Laundromat. You won't be the first guy washing bras and panties. Foam padded garments shouldn't be in a dryer anyway.

Since your wife knows you dress anyway, what's her problem with intimates? She needs to loosen her bra strap and relax a bit. Just my opinion.

Thank you girls for all your comments. Since I already do lot of household chores, I will take your advice and just come 'clean'---( pun intended)--with my wife. She is normally pretty understanding and I bet you are right that she already knows that I wear shape enhancing garments. So I am just going to tell her and let the chips fall where they may. Thanks again for your comments, Cindy

I took to doing the laundry to assist my wife and she now has no trouble with our clothes hanging together on the line.

I handwash my fem clothing in the sink, as I don't want to ruin the material in the machine with my other clothes. So what I've been doing is washing them in the sink, a few at a time, then hang them on a dryer in the tub, until they are dry enough to bring the dryer outside in the living room, however I noticed that sometimes I splash water from the sink, and don't want to have issues with my neighbors below me, so I'll have to figure out another way to do it. Since both my parents have moved on, I have the apartment to myself, but have a roommate, who I requested to be gay, so it makes it easier to not have to worry about him saying anything, although I have to be cautious of others coming into my apartment and seeing them, like family or friends. I had the super come in recently due to the bathroom leak, and he saw my clothes, but didn't say anything.

Mike, try lingerie bags for washing delicates in the washer. They work great. for things that are delicate and may catch on things. All of our bras go in them and many other things including some tops.

I have no idea what the Husband did with washing clothing before. Probably wore things till they barked at 'her'. At least now, he knows what a 'delicate' cycle is for and the need for Woolite. Above all, rinse and rinse again.

Mike, buy some caulking for gosh sake. Don't wash things like you're stomping grapes anyway.

Most items that say 'dry clean only' can be done at home with care, delicate cycle and less soap. Or by hand. Did I mention to rinse? Soap residue tends to collect odors.

Washing seems to be less a problem than for where to dry your items. Keeping in mind Cindy's original post, hiding femme wear to dry is a challenge. Still, a quick visit to a laundromat and some spare pocket change, that shouldn't be too hard to get away with.

Nah, just lay a beach towel on the floor below the sink.

Donna, I was thinking of the usual apartment sink and tub problems. No caulking between the fixture and wall will cause splashed water to drip through holes for pipes downstairs. Hubby will be so proud to know I've paid attention over the years.

Can I have a bit of fun? Mike, I know what you meant, but.

Was the roommate gay before your request? :)
