My Anniversary and other news.

Post by OliviaM »

On January 14, 2014 I joined this community and embarked on an incredible journey with the support of some wonderful and intelligent people. I know I have more to do in my trek, but would not be where I am without all of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I know I have not been posting lately, but have been reading almost daily. I was hoping to post the announcement that I had the talk with my SO, all was good, and Olivia was more out in the open. When that did not happen (her illness, her brother moving in, growing a beard for a possible movie role, and being a chicken) I was a little down and not sure I could do justice to posting. I have to add that I was also a little envious of a lot of the good things happening for others. On the positive side, I have been talking to another woman at work who has been trusting, accepting, offering good advice. And no, I do not have an answer to the obvious question, so I will let it go right now. My first GG gave me a present of a black and white loose turtle neck. It fits well and looks nice. I wanted to show her how it looked with a pair of black skinny jeans and black short boots, but couldn't get a picture. So one morning I put on the sweater, my bras, panties and pantyhose under my work pants with a windbreaker over the sweater. When at work, I went to her office, donned the jeans and shoes and took two pictures. Not sure if that counts as being out dressed, but it was kind of exciting. We are making plans to this again now that I have a haircut and shave (did not get the movie part). I think I will just take one day at a time and see where the road leads. I hope to start my second year here and be more active with my hope for your continued support. Thanks again and talk soon!!

Olivia, Happy Anniversary. Always remember that we will continuously support you (even after you become famous). That's what we are here for. Just remember, we all have road blocks that we have to maneuver around in our journey. You are on your way though. The outfit you wore to show your GG sounds very nice and you were ready to show it off to at least your GG.
It is a good idea to take it on day at a time, that's what a lot of us do. Our motto here is "Baby steps". Although I have been dressing for a long time I still have to slow down to "baby steps" at times. It's a good reminder to help keep in control so as not to embarrass myself, which I have done a time or two.
Hope to hear more about your GG friend and hope to see more post. You can invite your GG friend to join here also. We like GG's and SO's to visit us here so that we can pick their brains so to speak. Hugs.

"Trek"....Yup, sometimes it can feel like that. A lot of it, for me, is just to keep going...

First, thank you Anthony Simon, Dominique, Robyn, Donna T, and Carol Ann for your words of encouragement and continued support. It all means more to !me than you could know and gives me the knowledge and strength to let the road lead me to wherever it may go. Second, I joined this group on 1/12/14. Sorry about the post last night but I did not think the 1/15 post went through and then did not see it last night. All of ttis activity took place late night/early morning at the end of long days. So Silver Lady, can you take down the 1/18 post since it is redundant? I do apologize and will try to be more careful and observant. Lastly, I had some alone time yesterday and first tried on a pair of calf high black boots that my GG's said would look better with the outfit than the ankle boots. Tried on size 11 which felt OK (a little tight) but I felt I needed to try a 12 for the right decision. Of course they did not have it which was sad because they were on sale, $39. I also took a pair of black skinny jeans to the fitting room to try on size 10 with a 31 inch inseam. Fit nice (maybe a12would be better) and the length was good. First time trying on clothes in a store. Did not buy because the style was wrong, and the girl at the fitting room gave me a look a some kind of a smile on exiting. Thanks again talk soon.

I wanted to add a couple of close calls associated with my brother-in-law moving in. Most of my en femme wardrobe was in our extra room along with bins of family memorabilia. We had to make room and decided to put stuff in storage. My wife wanted to consolidate bins so I had to move my boxes to another room. Got my wardrode moved just in time. Then she was looking for a purse she wanted to use which was given to me by my GG. And she was going through the closet where the rest of my clothes are hanging. Then there was a phone problem that necessitated a house call. In order to get at the phone jack, stuff needed to be moved. Again I got home just in time to move the stuff before she got to my storage boxes. While I was of course relieved, a part of me kind of waned her to find and ask questions to get things out in the open. But I know that is not even remotely a good way to get that conversation started. These close calls were stressful, but until I actually do have the conversation I have to live with the stress.

"and being a chicken"

Each person will have his or her own definitions, of course. However, I prefer to think of this point as "and being a realist." I myself am fortunate to have a wife who knows about and is fully supportive of Jina -- so long as Jina stays inside our home. In my case, I'd be a fool to take Jina any further and to ruin what I have. You know best what is right for you.

In short, please do not beat yourself up. "Baby steps" is excellent advice.

Dumb question no 1. Why can't you just put your stuff in store (like paid)?

Thank you so much Jina for your experience and putting the situation in perspective. I will just take things as they come and just enjoy the opportunities when they happen and at some point when I think the time is right the talk will happen without it being forced. Thank you thank you thank you ](*,) ](*,) (--) (--) .
Anthony Simon you put my things in storage? Then I would have to go there to get them or dress there. Doesn't seem practical and besides the nearest storage facility is ten miles away. But it is a thought, thanks.

It's just, with me, that accidents waiting to happen do tend to happen.

Olivia, I worry about your secret stash. It is not a question of IF it will be discovered, the question is WHEN will it be discovered. You're walking through rain drops and not getting wet. Yet.

I had a close call myself last spring. Fortunately, my daughter has a lot of her friends over who just leave cloths everywhere. My stuff was written off as just another instance. Close call.

I've curtailed, sadly, shopping since then. Just more motivation for finding the right time for "the talk".

Any way, ten miles is not so bad for your piece of mind. Granted changing would be a challenge.

Would really hate to see you being confronted after a discovery. Not the best way to start off.

Be careful,
Kelly.
