Do you remember your very first femme purchase?

Post by Lacey Hadley »

Giving thoughts from another thread I began to think about my very first femme clothes purchase. It's amazing what you can remember and I have very good memory especially of things that help shape my life good or bad.

My firsrt femme clothing purchase was something I worked on doing in my mind for a number of days leading up to the day I went and did it. For me growing up sneaking into my mothers pantyhose drawer and occassionally a slip and dress with a pair of her heels ( esp. when I could actually sort of fit them on ) had a great draw on me. I loved the feeling of slipping pantyhose on and the look and silky feel of them on me. It was erotic by Ohhh so feminine, the girl inside me was so excited.

I decided in my early 20's to buy my own pantyhose. It really took shape around Christmas 1987, for days around the holidays I wanted to give a gift to my femme self. Finally the time came to either do it or not. It was the morning of Dec. 27th. if I recall, I got up a little bit earlier than normal and had a big cup of coffeee with breakfast, I was already excited but nervous. I figured going to a store not too close to where I live and early enough to have it not be too busy would be easier.

The drive to the store ( by the name of Fields, discount dept. store in Canada ) was exciting and nerve wracking. Getting closer to completing my first femme purchase was very exciting.

I got to the shop and parked my car, it was a cool sunny winter day. I got out and walked upto the door and entered, it was very quiet. The store was maybe open for a 1/2 hr or so. I was nervous and decided to cruise the isles as a casual shopper and looky loo. Building my courage up. Oh about 5-7 minutes I figured this is crazy, I'm either going to do it or walk out. I began to walk towards the ladies clothing section. From a distance I could see the pantyhose display. I was almost on autopilot. I wanted to get in and look at the cool eye candy of all the pantyhose to choose from. Being a discount store the brands were nothing to brag about, but I did not care, I wanted my own pantyhose. Soon I was zoned in and tunnel visioned. Looking at the brands and styles etc. Soon I found a beige pair and a white pair ( I remember the brand KAISER ) walking around I found sme opaques one in white and the other believe it or not dusty rose ( a popular colour for a while in the late 80's ) Four pairs of pantyhose in my hands and them trembling like a kid on a sugar high. I found the last pair to buy, BLACK, ohhhhh I picked it up and the it was time to go and pay for them.

I began walking to the counter, my nerves were going crazy as I got closer. It looked as if I'd be able to quickly get up and pay then out of the store. Just as I was getting to it a lady and a child got in front. Not wanting to look more odd or nervous than I was I got in behind her and began looking at the candy bars etc. Phew... she was soon done. The sales girl was a 20 something and kind cute. She did not say much accept a hi how are you with me responding. Each package of hose was being wrung up and I recall my hands shaking as I fumbled to pull the cash to pay her. BUT IT WAS DONE....

I got to my car and looked through my femme haul. I drove back home and of course in my privacy tried on each pair, it was as if I won the lottery. The quality of the hose was so so, but for once they were mine.

From there I have come a LONG WAY....

Well that is my first purchase in a consise way as I can to tell you all.

thanks for listening 8)

Hi Lacey ,

In all the years I've buying womens clothes it was the second time that I can remember ,

It was a pair of lycra black footless tights and a leatard to match , when I got to the counter at Kmart the young girl said at the top of her voice, " are these for you ", I answered confidently "yes they are " this left her red and embarrased with a smirk on her face but it didn't stop me from going back a week later.
no one has ever looked twice at me since .

The first purchase left me in a high state of achievment , it was a pair of red rib tights and a pair of black

My first purchase was my lingerie set from Victorias Secret. It was OCtober 2001, I gone in and told the sales lady it was for a halloween costume. I was measured for my bra. It was an ivory bra. First I tried on a 36B and I told her it was a little tight. She agreed and I tried on a 38B. then it fits. Then she ask my boxers size and this determined my thong size which was also ivory.

Hi All, I remember going to K-Mart, and picking out the prettiest light blue bra and panty set, I wonder what ever happened to them. Of course at the check out, they were accompanied by the ever present birthday card. I now have a drawer full of birthday cards  and lots of clothes that are out of style, or no longer fit.

A $12.00 pair of panties from Woodwards. No comment was made from the cashier. Probably due to the fact that there was alcohol on my breath.

The first femme item I bought for myself completely on my own was a pair of leopard print slippers at a Target on a Friday morning - I tried on the right one and it fit, so I bought them - $5.99 and wore them almost daily, sometimes constantly when I was indoors at home for over a year and a half until they wore out.

My wife bought me a pair of Dearfoam ones, also leopard print, for Christmas and I wear them almost every night when I put on my nightgown.

My first fem purchess was a pink bodysuit at target. Up until I threw it away because it was wearing out it was my favorite bodysuit. That was when I was back in highschool.

My first purchase was a pair of Leggs Reliance pantyhose at a fairly local Revco (now known as CVS). I walked around the store to make sure I didn't recognize anyone. I was going to get suntan Sheer Energy, but when I got to the hosiery rack there were a lot more choices than I expected. I nearly bailed, but I didn't! A woman and her daughter walked by and snickered a little, but I still did not bail. Nothing was said at the check-out counter and I remember feeling quite a rush with that first purchase! Thanks for the thread. I was 18 then.

My First Purchase

Post by Jennifer »

Although it was many years ago I still remember it vividly. My wife and I were going to a party at the home of another CD we knew from a support group I was a member of. We drove quite a distance to get there so it was planned to stay in a motel. Once there I couldn't wait to dress and found myself with a few hours to kill. So we hopped in the car for a drive, the first time I ever drove dressed. Within minutes we were passing a mall and I asked my wife if she wanted to go in. "I'm game if you are" was her answer.
As we entered I was partly terrified and partly on cloud nine. Soon we were standing in front of a lingerie shop with so many pretty things in the window. I knew I had to buy something or I'd regret it forever if I didn't. There I was looking at teddies and bra and panty sets on pink padded hangers trying to decide just what I should buy. There were women who quickly spotted me but no one made any sort of comment, however there were two who giggled as I passed them. I picked out a peach underwired satin bra and took it to the till where I was simply asked if it was cash or charge. In my normal male voice I said "Cash" and as the cashier gave me my change she said thank you and have a nice day. I was simply floored at how easy it was and wondered what took me so long to get up the nerve.

Great thread! :)

My first purchase was No Nonsense hose from a 24 hour store. It was all clear at the counter and then (like other stories) :) a group of young college kids (i was in college too) walked up to the register right behind me.

One of the drunk guys made fun of me and his girlfriend said, "They are probably for his girlfriend stupid." and the cashier just smiled at me. Thankfully she was a GG. :)

The whole experience stank!!! lol! It made me think that what I was doing was wrong and it was a sign or something, but then I realized I had more support in that experience than negative energy. Regardless it scarred me! rotf

I can't remember faces, just the event. I did it again, at a smaller store that time. I know the guy behind the counter knew what I was up to, but he was "ok".

Hi all,

Cool thread.

My first purchase was two pairs of house-brand pantyhose at a local drugstore. I was nervous. I was petrified. I was out $1.50 (I blew a goodly chunk of my weekly allowance on that one  ). I was twelve years old.

Love,
CJ

Cool thread.
My first purchase was from the local boutique lingerie store. I strolled in casually, had a bit of a look, then told the girl working there, i was looking for a gift for my girlfriend. I ended up spending over $100 on a Lace Bra and G-String with matching supender belt and stocking. Of course it all had to be nicely wrapped. Such a lovely gift for my 'girlfriend'...ME!

Since then I've become, even once telling the shop assistant I was buying for myself. She was still very helpful, although a little suprised!

Hi girls, My first purchase was , blue and white swim suit , a pair of pink /white stripped back zip (love those back zips) capri pants, all Sears mail order. No sales clerk, I grew up in Int'l Falls, Mn. very small town everyone knew everyone. No walk in and buy for me. I remeber being so scared that the person behind the catalog counter would peak at what I had bought , I was 17. Had those capri's for many years. Back then i could fit into a girls 14. What a runt. ....Kristen

My very first femme purchase was a Playtex 18 Hour open boyyom girdle. I started CD'ing with girdles, so it was natural this would be my first purchase when I was able to do so (instead of borrowing mom's all the time). Since I started with Playtex, I giess you can tell I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Playtex girl ... :)

I finally got up enough nerve to go into a small local lingerie shop in drab. I just matter-of-factly told the saleslady that I wanted to buy a Playtex 18 Hour open bottom girdle in size medium. She did seem a bit surprised about my request, but the sale went smoothly. Well, a girl needs stockings to go with her girdle, so the next day I went to a large department store and bought several pairs of Hanes sheer stockings. This time it was a bit easier to be in the ladies section buying ladies things. Upon getting home, I put my new girdle and stockings on -- I was in ecstasy now that I had my OWN !!!

From then on, it was easy to go to the stores and buy just about anything. The lingerie section was no longer a scary place and buying bras, girdles, slips and panties was no problem at all. The salesladies didn't bat an eyelash & were actually quite helpful! Buying dresses, skirts, heels and makeup was also not a problem. I always made sure when I went to the store that I knew pretty much what I wanted & knew which sizes to buy. Of course, buying femme things was always much easier around the Xmas holidays, as one could use the "it's a gift...." excuse. Years ago, Playtex always had their January intimates sales, so I would go to the stores at those times to stock up on my bras and girdles.

When I went to the store, I just bought what I wanted and did not ask to try things on. But I would have loved to go try things on ... :P ... one of these days I'll just have to go shopping dressed and try things on to my heart's content. That would be wonderful. I dress very conservatively, so assuming I'm passing OK, I should be fine ... just another woman out shopping...
