The right outfit for your surroundings! For work I tend to it keep casual office, some dresses but mostly separates. Tops and blouses, skirts and tailored slacks.
My dresses generally need some alterations due to my smaller than normal waist, compared to my hips and bust. and Spandex dress are not suitable for office! always in medium heels of boots. If I am on factory floor rule is 2 inch heels which cause me some discomfort, since I normally 3 and higher.

Yes, deciding on the right outfit for one's surroundings is ........ well time consuming, frustrating, thrilling, interesting, often difficult, fun and I don't know what else. It's no wonder that so many people just opt for the jeans and t-shirt, simple and easy.
I don't like jeans and t-shirts though; they are ok if one is doing some dirty work and you don't want to ruin a nice outfit, but other than that it's boring. So I tend to overdress a bit I think, at least I hope. I'd rather be seen as that old person who doesn't realize people in this century dress casually now, than as that old person who is trying to be a teenager. Everybody already knows I'm crazy, so I'd rather be crazy on my own terms and be slightly overdressed for the occasion.

Hi ,

Dress for your surrounding,s , oh dear... I,v never thought about that , maybe because im so involved with our groups we have our own styles and even with in them im a little different except maybe when in uniform that I can change to ether long pants = trousers or a skirt depending on if im in concert or on Parade so I do have some leaway ,our other groups most know Renaissance and Edwardian plus Scottish, and even those I can wear any where ,

as for normal day / night wear most times a skirt blouse or tee,s and as summer is coming up fast now I,ll be able to wear my summer blouse,s and summer skirts and leather sandles , sun hats and a lot more,

Im not really sure what you mean by dress for your surroundings , doubt I do or would , I just dress with in my own styles and go any where and over sea,s in my Renaissance garb, or another way I don't conform to a set ( I don't know ) what others deem todays look,

I,ll tell you what , when I go to our Country = Germany I,ll be dressed in our garb not the todays clothes, I,ll be dressed on the way over as well just take two sets of garb and get what I need or I,ll make them there, I learnt I don't take clothes with me now duffel bag and camera,s nice and light .

heute der Art und Weise ist nicht mein ding.....auf keinen Fall
= todays fashion is not my thing.....no way .

Stop bragging!

Of course dress for the occasion or surroundings. Wearing more than a 2" heel on a factory floor is out of place, it's a safety thing, not your comfort.

Around here, noone, except department store sales girls, wears dresses or skirts, so if I go out, it's in jeans and a t-shirt. In cooler weather, sweaters become the "top of choice".
