Smiling at me

Hi girls,

I went out and bought me some sandals today. It is the first time I ever bought womens shoes specifically for me brand new. They are these great black strap sandals with about an inch and a half of rise from front to back. And they fit :) It is my intention to make these my casual shoes to replace my Adidas sandals, execpt when I am with my kids.

And once I did that, well, I had to have a woman's watch. And how could I get a new watch and not get a bracelet? So I got a bracelet too. Then I got this incredible idea. So I bought some more supplies.

So I waited for my kids to go to bed. Then after a reasonable grace period to make sure they were asleep I went and showered and shaved my entire body with sensitive skin shaving cream. As I am sure you are all aware that takes a lot of shaving cream, so I don't do this every time. Then I got out, moisturized and removed my old nail polish.

I took my time(perfectionists should not be expected to polish nails in a reasonable amount of time) and did an absolutely wonderful job on them. Now they are a shimmering pale pink. And really smooth.

And then I did it. The supplies I bought? Mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick, foundation, rouge, makeup sponges, makup brushes My hands were shaking and I had trouble getting the eyeliner on. The mascara was not much easier. But when I was done, and even though I don't have long hair and the makeup job was not so good. There she was. I had not seen her in 14 years and it put the biggest smile on my face that I ever recall. I could not stop looking at Elizabeth smiling at me so pretty.

I have so missed that part of me, and it was like getting my soul back, to let Elizibeth "be". I know she is me and I am her, but after feeling like Elizabeth for so long, it was great to actually see her again. I just can't explain it. I feel terrific.

Love to all,
Elizabeth

Hi girls,

Of course I was snapped back to reality when my 17 year old son called at 11:30 at night. He had gone to Six Flags with his girlfriend and her dad's car broke down on the freedway and had to have it towed. So? I had to go and pick him up. Which of course meant I had to take off the makeup. Had it been anyone but one of my kids, I don't think I would have taken it off.

Anyway, I still feel great today and I am looking forward to what the day will bring.

Love always,
Elizabeth
