Hi Marda,

Thank you for providing this additional food for thought. This is what I enjoy most about being on this forum. I like it when posters post view points from other people, It helps me understand things from a wider perspective.

A person with whom I communicate regularly, is involved in the same kind of thinking, and she has had some remarkable success, and I am watching with interest.

Some thoughts I have about it are, is what do we view as success? Success for me is not the kind of success my friend is after.

While will power is definitely an important ingredient, I believe there are things that influence, and even direct will power.

About eight years ago I lost all my will power to achieve the goals I had been chasing after, and it was at that point that I returned to the activity of cross-dressing.

It is my contention that the former (Goals etc.) have to first die before one will be able to take charge of their destiny and transition, and therefore it involves more than will power.

Therefore I believe one has to walk there own walk, and by doing that some goals will have to die, while they will succeed at others. I believe that we will not all succeed at the same goals.

It is my hope that each of us will succeed at the goals that will allow us to be content in this life. After all is that not what each of really wants?

This is probably the toughest question that will ever be put to me here., but I accept it and will answer it as best I can.

I don't think it has anything to do with being to hard on people. It probably has more to do with where they are. If you are viewed as trying to change them, they will burn rubber getting away from that. In other words if you have come here with an agenda you will likely run into trouble.

For some people their security is dependent on how well they are received by others, and will attempt to use that as a tool to manipulate others to act in ways that will enable them to feel good about themselves.

One thing that has been revealed to me as a result of the thread that has been locked, is that there are people here who have a lot to contribute to the life on this forum, who feel threatened by what some people believe, as though that in some way will harm them.

I do not understand the need to burn rubber, I do not understand why it can not simply be taken as another opinion, which by the way every body has at least one, and they all are some what different from each other.

The need to burn rubber is obviously a defense mechanism, against what I don't know. It is the opposite of acceptance.

One thing I have learned is that help some times comes in surprise packages, even ugly ones. I have been helped by people with whom I have had to create some closet space, although they certainly are not aware of it.

I have probably gone farther here than I have needed to. I hope it is helpful.

For me, my greatest success has been finding balance in my life, which then brought harmony. There was a time in my life when everything I thought or did was wrong or unacceptable, my thoughts of 'self' didn't align with the social reality around it, thus the range of expression was quite ineffectual. Whatever degree of will power I exerted to try and 'fit' was never enough to defeat the natural course of events.

I would certainly agree that everyone has to walk their own individual walk, if they don't then there is little chance they will ever find balance in their life, balance brings harmony, well it has in my life.

Balance means there are things one may have to give up, such as patterns of thought and behaviour. Sometimes what has to be has to be, I found that altough changing my thought patterns, behaviour and breaking old habits resulted in some social ramifications, those changes brought balance and harmony into my life. There exists inside us all, that urge of our basic right to live and exist in this world as our true self, if we can successfully achieve this then we become at ease with ourself which in turn then means all that energy we used up in anger and frustration can then be used in a more positive manner.

I would agree that their are higher forces within us which direct our will power to break old habits and fly in the face of convention to develop new habits, success means different things to different people. It's not easy to release things which have been hidden inside for so long when you know it will invite ridicule. Many people live a role just so that they'll fit in, if we can gradually find the strength to balance our life, then in time harmony comes.

I would venture to say that no one really comes here with the intent to change anyone, we all know within ourself what is right for us, but hopefully, by people publicly expressing their thoughts and experiences, others can find support and take from them what they find of value and enrich their own life.

... one gal, not so glamoureez ... but a martial arts champion at 18 yrz ... out of a war torn kountry ... do the work of 3 people without batting an eye ... honest az the day is long ... ladylike and quite accepting of the apparent matter that she would not likely be sitting for a Playboy shoot ... nothing nasty out of her mouth ...

... another gal ... very slim with a lean but but very cute figure ... rather shy ... bekauz she was out of an eastern european kommunist kountry where she had to be real kareful what she said to whom ... working in my store while her huzband tended their little princess ... to earn a second income & to have medical benfitz ... so she could go to skool to convert her european Khemikal Engineering degree into North American equivalentz ... also do the work of 3 people ... also honest az the day ... no foul words or evil deedz ...

... without too much description here ... I also had what I kall the "mirror girlz" who acted like the devilz daughterz ... alwayz lookin' at themselvez and fixin' their hair in the store mirrorz while ignoring customerz (hence the name) ... only "work" to get a clothing discount ... lazee ... bad mouthing and backbiting each other ... literally arguing and skrapping in front of customerz about who saw the customer first - just for a few inkonsequential bonus pointz ... avoided kleaning the fitting roomz ... you get the picture ... many of them weren't particularly attraktive but they figured themselves to be Venus' gift to all men ...

I'm not sure if that klarifiez anything ??? I guess what I'm getting at here is about *Kharakter* ...

One *Blue* boss I had in another line of work waz being pressured about "dressing" professionally for work ... he told the boss *The Tie Doesn't Make The Man - The Man Makes The Tie* ... pretty Kool I thought ...
