Future of Merinda , just a big kid
I have been doing some thinking over the last few weeks as to where I am going with all this.
I have in excess of 500 images of Merinda and running out of space , I haven't made a final decission yet but I'm looking at running 3-4 photosessions by January and then stopping regular service.
I would then reduce to one photosession per year , I will dress-up in-between but I just wont photo.
secondly,
I have come to the conclusion that I dont make a good mature or sexy woman , so I will not persue this path any longer.
Looking at what has worked well for me and what hasn't , junior mode " kids casual clothing " seems to work better so I will continue on this line.
I did a photosession the other day in a kids black ruffle skirt with mandarin jumper and it worked well.
looking at past photos I come to the same conclusion .

Hi Merinda,
Your first avatar looked like a mature sexy woman.
I respect your decision to live as you want to live. The younger clothing on you will only look good for a finite amount of years. I think you should continue to work on your mature look too. You're right you do look cute in those outfits.
I just think you shouldn't give up on dressing more like an adult as you work on your mature look.
500 images and growing. Well, I can understand that. It's not like we get to express this part of ourselves everyday, so your pictures are a pleasant reminder of who you are.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with the forum. I think they are very important!

Great attitude Young lady!!!!!
AS the great philosopher and writer Samuel Clements once said: "Your as young as you feel!"
You go girl! Just one thing to pass on, remember one of our sisters said, " Mirrors are great on the wall, but the best mirror is in a friend's eyes."
Love ya,
Deborah

Just as long as your having fun and happy Merinda that's all you should be worrying about
I agree with Beauty, taking photos is a lovly way of remember who we are when we are not dressed up. You know what I've started doing, printing photos out and I am really thinking about putting them in pictures frames and keeping them out lol that might be the way way everyone else finds out about Sophie
Dad comes round, whose that? Ahhh it's me Dad lmao

Beauty ,
You are right in saying that the junior image cannot last beyond a few more or less years , that is why I want to get the most out of it while i still can.
I probably wont give up dressing older , its just that its hard to find clothing that suits my taste.
If I see a suitable ladies evening dress or similar I will try it and use it if it is sucsessful , but my focus is on the younger look at the moment.
Perhaps it will be a progression to maturity over the next few years.
My photos are the "forever captured" result of CDing and if I ever give the game away I will have a lot to look back on and say--
"WOW! was that really me

Hi Merinda,
I understand your dilema. From what I have read here and other places it is not at all uncommon for us crossdressers to have a desire to wear clothing that is not age appropriate. I think you should do what makes you feel comfortable.
When it becomes uncomfortable, your taste will change. It is not like the world is such an accepting place that you are being judged on your fashion sensibilities. I say if we are not to be accepted anyway, put on your "stupidly looking hat" and have a great time.
Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi Merinda,
We are here together on this forum as CD's, TG's, AG's, SO's etc and there is a feeling of camaraderie, but initially I think most of us wanted to find a place where we could be ourselves. That includes drssing however suits us as individuals, be it a schoolgirl, old granny, whatever. If you felt you had to conform to a stereotype it would defeat the whole point of learning to be yourself.
Sometimes, I look back at my posts and think 'what must people think of me' that I must be on some strange substance (which I'm not) or floating somewhere in space in my own little spacecraft. But that's how I am when I don't try to conform. That's one of the reasons I love this place and everyone here, I'm not being knocked for it, and that way I will grow and develop.
If at some point you begin to feel it's time to change your 'look' then it will be right for you at that time. In the meantime do whatever your heart tells you and you won't go far wrong.
(You always look cute anyway)
Love

Rebecca,
You are one of many of the girls here that I always look forward to reading what you put forth! Strange? no way! As you said, take the variety of backgrounds here and yet have them correspond with eachother in a civil, well thought out, all be it opinionated (sometimes) way, is one of the things that make s this such a great site. The help we provide to eachother by drawing on out own experiences and the willingness to share these is wonderful. Keep the faith, ladies!
Love,
Deborah

Hey Merinda,
Rock on!! The bottom line is to just have fun and wear what makes you feel most comfortable.
Just between you and I, even though I like the clothes laid out for GGs my age, I was never particularly a fan of the "dress your age" rule. But once your confidence supercedes your desire to always "pass" and "blend in" then the rule of dressing your age no longer applies. All bets are off. Hence whenever I'm in the mood I'll expand my horizons to fit my mood. If I feel young & cute then that's how I'll dress!
I totally agree with Rebecca about how conforming defeats the purpose of learning to be yourself.

I think you can wear whatever you want at home, like teeny weeny mini skirts if you want
But if I was ever to go out I would prolly wear a pair of 3 quarter length jeans, and a halter neck top or something. Would be sexy but not in your face sexy but if I ever went out clubbing be a different story
.

Thanks girls ,
Like Rebecca I've been feeling a bit down and out this week which is not good when you're on holidays.
The computer failing a number of times hasn't helped either , But as Rebecca said " it part of the journey ", I just hate those days where you feel totally confused .
I think I'll plan my next schoolgirl project for Aug/Sept.

Merinda, I am trying to judge how old you are , this is impossible to do because you look so young, an I am so old. (Paul Anka song) I myself was looking young until i hit 42 then i started aging really fast, My point is that once your body starts changing, and you actually start to age, your tastes will come right along with it. I used to dress quite a bit like a slut, I had the body for it and I looked young . That no longer applies, I have now went for more conservative look , cowgirl. business suits, evening gowns and Jeans and tees. There was a time I looked pretty in mini skirts and thigh high boots and girlie dresses, those days are now gone I enjoyed it for quite a while. Keep doing what your doing until you don't like the look or not feeling "right in the school girl theme"'' I think you a doll and you wear it well. It's not going to be a overnight thing you'''ll have plenty of time to make a switch when you feel you need to. .......... Advice by been there done that Kristen.... If you take it you owe 5 cents.
Do want you want to do, be who you want to be.

Hi Kristen ,
My Male-Mode age turns 44 on August 17
In 1984 a work collegue went to a fancy dress party as a schoolgirl and fooled the taxi driver and the shop assistant where he bought takeaway food after the party .
When he told us his story my mind went into overdrive and I soon started to dress in a green school summer dress , from that point I have always wanted to do the same , " go out and fool the public " .
I couldn't have imagined in 1984 that in twenty years time I would fulfill my dream , but on May 13 2004 I did just that .
I cannot explain why when I'm dressed in femme that I seem to look so much younger but I just accept it and enjoy the opportunity while it lasts.
I have trouble judging Merinda's age also , I put her around 18 but I felt 16 when I went out .
