I was wondering if we should start recommending Dr.s here? I'm not talking about your personal doctor. That may be too much information, but I'm talking more about physicians who we know cater or readily accept and understand TG'd folks. Also these Dr.'s would have to be open about their dealings with Transgendered patients.

I know I'd go to one in a heartbeat. I joined a group called Gay Medical Professionals. After being in it so long I decided that it had helped me, but now I'd like to find out if there are doctors out there who have had experience with TG'd clients.

This could be a bad idea, but since I thought about it I decided the idea in the water with the forum faithful and see if it floats.

I dont see how it could be a bad idea. Doctors are in it for the money, so if he's a good doctor who understand and sympathises with transgendered people, then recommending him will only bring him more business, which would be doing him a favor.

I frequent a message board for my fibromyalgia, and it is a common practice to ask for, or submit Doctors who cater to the specific needs of the illness or treatment.

Fibromyalgia is also an illness on the fray of society of until just recently was considered to be illness of the hypocondriac. There are still many doctors who treat it like it is not a real illness because of thier ignorance.

Along these lines I find it totally appropriate, being a minority group, that we talk about medical professions who understand and treat our needs, and to share that information with each other.

Bravo, this is a very good idea, in my opinion.

GREAT idea Beauty.

I'll give it a try!! I'm looking for a doctor in the York, Pa area. Up to 30 miles driving is ok. Anyway if anyone knows of a transgender friendly doctor who will help me with hormones, I would like to know.
