Coming out to my peers

Hi girls,

I joined a musician forum back in June, under a new nick, but have been going there for over a year, under a different nick. I did this because I am a known associate of a person there, who is my best friend, and he gets a lot of business from there.

I wanted a new nick because I wanted to confront bigotry, and closemindedness, but did not want to cause my friend to automatically be a part of the controversary attacking bigotry would cause.

Well, two nights ago, I came out to all of them, and admitted I was a crossdresser. I was expecting it to be pretty bad because open bigotry is permitted there. However, quite delightfully, I have been very well received, and in fact even got some support and was thanked for bringing up and sharing information.

Here is the link to that thread for those who wish to read it.
This is not for the faint hearted, there is bad language and people are not always nice. Be warned!!!!!

I wish to record another victory in our attempt to get acceptance.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Rock on, Elizabeth!!! =D>

I love how you're very open about your CDing these days in mainstream settings... it's great to test the waters of society. (--)

Hi all,

Elizabeth,

I just went to read the thread also. It's a hoot hearing people's views on this from a mainstream forum, as Lorna said. (A word of caution, though: the views are unexpurgated--some replies aren't for the faint of heart. Proceed at your own risk.)

I was tickled to see that your reply to Merinda's "Stupidly Looking Hat" thread made it into the topic. As I was reading, what I kept thinking is this: one of these musicians will eventually tune in to that new crossdresser reality-tv show next month and he'll go, "Hey! I know a guy like that on Harmony Central! He's really cool about the whole thing, too!" Score one for transgender visibility, eh? Press on, girl, press on! :)

Love,
CJ

CJ,

I authored "The Stuidly Looking Hat" and that is why I included it.

Super cool,

It's a brave thing to do, so well done, but all the replies are cool! DrunkenMaster25 is cool, I wish we could all get that mentality but it's not easy sometimes.

I am a member of an xbox forum and haven't posted on there in over 3 months, I've thought about going back and saying I crossdress but such a scary thought :)

Well done Elizabeth :)

Yes this was Elizabeths fine work , not mine.
