Yea, the hair loss does lead to heat loss, but it's fun!

Shaved my upper torso earlier this month and when I went swimming, Brrrrr.

Let's see some nice pictures, hear!?

Interesting thread.......I just have to add my 2 cents.
I suffered from itchy legs for years. Vey hairy!
One winter night, after removing my longjohns, I spent several minutes scrratching my legs. My second wife, after seeing me do this, asked why I didn't shave them.
What? A guy shave their legs?
Her reply was... women do it so they won't be itchy...why not a guy.
Been shaving them ever since. What Comfort!

OK I thought I would chime in with some words about this subject as I also have a question. I shaved my thighy leaving my lower leg to look like I always have long socks on (it is kind of funny) It's just that I have not been able to take the time to shave that part.

The question is when (and how) do you shave your legs.

In the shower or a bath or something else I kind would like to know as I find doing it in a shower a waste of a lot water and taking a bath just seams ICKY to me.

I've done it in the shower.

After getting wet, turn the water off and then put the lather on. Just like you would do when shaving your face. Only do a little of the leg at a time. Calves, then thighs, etc.

Fill a bowl with hot water. Shave and rinse razor in water bowl.

I suggest Aveeno Perfetly Smooth Shaving Gel.

When done, turn shower back on and rinse off.

Once dry, use Aveeno Perfetly Smooth Moisturizer to moisturize your legs. Mmmmm.

My wife now uses Aveeno too.

I had been shaving my thighs for a few weeks and about two weeks ago I went all the way. I started to use Aveeno lotion too. Heavenly although I have had to experiment with which pantyhose to wear as I have either worn tights or doubled up pantyhose to hide the hair. The JC Penney Shaper Pantyhose, which comes in size Long, were the ones of choice.

My family has not noticed although with it being cold, things have been covered.

Well, we've been invited to go south for Spring Break to include swimming. I've stopped shaving to have the hair grow out by then although mentally I am very sad to do this. Oh well.

Hi girls,

Don't get me started on shaving my legs, sooooooooo love the smooth feeling. However, since I started shaving them, it only takes a day or 2 before I need to go through the whole process again.
If I'm honest though, I love the thrill I get of actually shaving them. =P~ =P~ =P~
Give me cold legs any day.

The Aveeno Positively Smooth has regrowth inhibitors.

I can shave my face in the morning and the regrowth does not appear until the next morning, and not much at that.

Takes a few times (they advertise 4 weeks but took me less than that) of use before you notice the effect.

Yes, I like Aveeno products as well. We posted a list several months ago to be used as responses to anyone who has the gall to ask if you shave your legs (chest, arms, etc.) Actually no one usually will ask why or if you shave all or various parts, but if they do, some of the responses are:
I do it because of my sport. (Biking, swimming, body building, running, etc)
I have Ebola virus and it all fell out!
Thanks for noticing, I'll have myself checked out later.
Its the weather, always happens when the sun comes up.
It a heredity thing!
Good luck and don't be bashful about shaving, unless you have an SO who doesn't know or cares -do like I do tell 'em ain't none of your business!

excuses, excuses :) .......mine is that I had a rash on my legs....and its easier to treat without hair in the way. Honestly, no ones aked yet, but thats my story and I'm sticking with it.
Have been using Aveeno for two months now..and it really does work! I am (was) a bit furry in the beard area...and was trying all sorts of covers...but now can get by with just a concealer like Max Factor ERACE. BTW...besides....Dermablend......Mehron has a "tattoo cover" that works well....I understand some makeover places are repackaging it as their "exclusive" beard cover for big bucks. Its only $10 on their site. Sigh, the things we do for beauty :)

Hi Anne, :)

Ok, you all have convinced me to use Aveeno. :) I'd never heard of it before tonight. #-o

Congrats on shaving the tops of your legs! :) I'm sorry you have to go away for a week, but at least you can start shaving again when you get back. :) :) :)

I have Ebola virus and it all fell out!
..rofl..
I'll have to remember that one...

I shave pretty much my entire body on about a weekly basis. I use an autoshaver, it's just more convenient. I save my razors for those delicate areas like underarms and, well, etc. There's almost nothing I love more than the feeling of being freshly shaved.
