Ran into my Ex at a club

Hi all!

Recently I was out on a Saturday night with some friends and walked into my favorite club, the drag show had already started so I took a seat toward the back. I looked up and saw someone waving madly to me, I swore it looked like my ex stepdaughter but thought "no way, she lives 150 miles away and what would she be doing at a drag bar" The girl then stood up and came over to me and sure enough, it was her. She then said that her mom (my ex) was there too. Now my ex knew about Stef and actually liked me better in girl mode but her daughter had never seen me in person as Stef. This was just strange for me, mainly because I was not expecting it.

I went and sat with them. They had brought a group of which I knew everyone and they didn't know about me. I assumed that they knew who I was cause my step daughter has never been known to keep a secret so I started talking to them. They looked at me like "Do I know you?" and slowly they made the connection. In hindsight, they're reaction is hilarious because their mouth dropped open and they were like "Are you who I think you are?" I just smiled and the general reaction was "Oh My GOD!"

My ex was a widow when we met but she had remained close to her husband's family and her 70 year old mother in law was there as well. She did not have a clue who I was. Like I said earlier, I just assumed everyone knew who I was. I started talking to her and she turned to my ex and asked who I was, when she was told the look on her face was priceless!! She then told me that she had been told about me but how I looked was nothing like what she had imagined. She said she expected to see a guy in a dress not an attractive lady. I just had to hug her neck!!

It was a good night, just strange for me. My friends at the club had to laugh, the main comment was "If it's gonna happen to anyone, It's gonna happen to Stef"

Hugs,
Stef

Sounds wonderful Stef. =D> =D>

I can believe it, from your picture, that that they'd have a hard time believing there was a boy in there somewhere!

It's good to see you back, Stef. You did make a great story out of this, and I'm happy you handled it as it unwinded. Odd that your ex-mother in law would want to go to a drag show, but, hey, there she was! You certainly showed her what a good presentation looks like!

Hi Stef,

I too, was at the edge of my seat. I admire your wonderful attitude about life. I love that you can remain true to yourself even in such a potential conflict. You showed me again that our destiny is in our own hands. You are a beautiful person! I could never have been so mature and womanly even with two years of therapy under my chemise. I hope that you get the joyful good things of life.

Stef:

You have such a superior personality that I wish at times I had one one hundredth your self-condifence and self control. I know myself I would have killed or attempted too. But I will never be out of the closet so I do not have to worry about that.

Gelinda.
