I have my consultation for light therapy on my face, tomorrow morning. I have told them nothing other than I am a male and I want to discuss the process of having it done on my face. I am really a bit excited as all the good things I have heard. I will keep you posted as to what happens. I do not intend to initally tell them I am a crossdresser unless they bring it up. I am not ashamed of it needless to say, it is just none of their business - unless they ask. It will be interesting!
Love ya,
Virginia

Well it's all over! Easy! Filled out the standard medcial questionnaires, met with the Dr. and told her just did not want to have to shave anymore.
She said that there were no guarantees, but she had been very successful so far and the gov't said she could not say "permanent" but it was pretty much permanent.
The "tech" that did the actual treatment said that it would sort of be a cross between a sting and a burning sensation. She used a wand similar to a hand held viabrator with an elongated oval head about three inches long. She started out with a 40 what ever that is. I wore some plastic eye-covers but could still "see" the pulse each time. Anyway she "zapped" me twenty-one times and I twitched 21 times. It was uncomfortable, but only for a split second, and the minor smell of burnt hair. The major problem we encountered was that I appearantly have some, a few, hell, a lot of gray hair in my beard and those did not take the treatment hardly at all. The Dr. said on the next treatment to try hair/beard coloring -that I will, black! It is not that the hair is any different but that the "lighter" color absorbs the light and difusses it so it is just not able to kill the root. It has been about three hours and I feel fine. I put some Aveeno on like they recommended and no redness or pain. I do notice a somewhat grayer beard, only because a lot of the dark hairs are gone - I can live with that

! My next session is for next Thursday, that should give me time to recover. They also recommended against shaving today because of potentially additional irratation to my skin.
I have five more sessions and they feel that should be adequate, we will see.

Hope it works Virginia.
Make sure the beard coloring doesn't stain your skin, that will cause a good burn from the treatment.
