Someone just noticed my shaved legs!!!!!
First, some background:
I'm 20 years old, I'm in college right now, but I will be taking a year off. When not at college, I live at home with my parents. Now, I've agonized for months over whether to keep my legs shaved into the summer. I find those better for my crossdressing, as do most of the other people here I assume. I finally decided to go for it.
The first day, at home, my parents did not notice. The first day at college, nobody noticed. But today, somebody noticed at dinner!! I managed to make a quick response, to the question of "Did you shave your legs?" of "Yep. Keeps me cool in the summer." But then the eight guys at the table quickly started talking amongst themselves about it. I was so scared that I went and sat clear at the other end of the cafeteria.
I need help getting over my fears so I can answer to people who express even minor curiosity.

I found this post very interesting since Paige keeps his legs shaved (though I wish he wouldn't during the summer months). He does have exceptionally nice legs, I have to admit, but still...
I'm always concerned about what people will think or say - and often they don't address it with him, but ask ME about it. What am I suppose to say?? Feels like I'm put in a situation I'd just as soon not have to respond to.

Hi Daniel,
Good recovery, your answer I mean.
When I was in college a million years ago I had a girl notice. She didn't say anything she just ran her hand over one of my legs when I wasn't expecting it. I didn't know what to do, but I kept shaving.
I've gone through phases of shaving and not shaving, but these days it has to do with being lazy vs. fearing others looking at my legs.
I think one of the ways fear will go away is the more we understand ourselves. I think the more we understand ourselves the more we accept ourselves. The more we accept ourselves the more fear dissipates. This is what happened to me at least.
Good for you for living the life you want to. If you change your mind and decide to let the hair grow again I think that's ok too.

Not Very Fashionable??? I haven't seen ONE guy at college with shaved legs, or even with any less leg hair than I would naturally have. The least I've seen on any guy there is about the same as what I would naturally have. So I naturally have one of the least amounts of leg hair in the world to start with, but still enough to interfere with any crossdressing.

Here is a thought. Tell them you were on the swim team years ago, and coach made you shave them, for speed. And ever since, when the hair grows in it itches like crazy!!! You have to shave or you look like a monkey that can't stop scratching. BTW, this is a great cover because it can be true ( I knew someone in high school.... hmmm....well, anyways, I believed it)
Or try telling them that you are thinking about body modification (grin) but you are afraid of needles, so peircings and tattoos are out.
Keep us posted! And kudos to you for bravery!!

I don't want to lie about the swim team thing, but I can say that leg hair itches too much. Thanks for the ideas on what to say - I want to have some weapons in my arsenal if someone wants to force me to talk about my shaved legs by going on and on about it.
At least if I decided to grow my fingernails long and keep them that way, I can tell people it makes it easier for me to pick my nose.

Hi Daniel!!
Welcome. The other forum is full of jerks lately. I like your comment about your nails. As the old saying goes, you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose (and longer nails help with that!), but its much harder to pick your relatives!
If you are given a lot of stuff about shaving by your friends, you might have to pick new ones, maybe some who only know you with shaved legs. Overall, you will have less stress if you just be as matter-of-fact as you can be about things. Tell 'em how much more comfortable you feel, and how much your ladyfriends appreciate your gesture to their comfort. I have been hairless on my body and legs for about two years, and even my sister has ceased to wonder or comment, just accepts that's the way it is. We are overdue for the "TALK" though. I do still get a comment about my nails now and again, but she's just jealous. She's too stressed to let her's grow out without nervously biting them off.
So it can be done and you can have your way, just be calm about it, and quietly persevere.

Hi Daniel--
I can appreciate that you don't want to lie about it, and would still like something to say. I don't have any easy answers. No one ever comments about either my legs or my arms, but I'm long past the age where anyone feels the need to make me conform.
I have no idea about whether it's fashionable, but I do know that I was impressed by the drummer for the group No Doubt--on the cover of Rolling Stone, it was plain that he had NO body hair at all. Still, whatever he does is not necessarily helping you. Like Beauty says, if you retreat and grow it back for awhile, there's no harm in that.
I get the feeling that you may have to open up a less serious part of yourself in order to make this work for you. Find your inner stand up comic! There's no rational reason for shaving your legs that isn't going to feel like a lie to you, so you might need to "go for it," and just give crazy answers that don't answer the question but amuse people anyway. It takes a certain feeling/attitude to pull that off, and maybe it's something you've been wanting to learn. Well, here's your practice field!

Hi Daniel,
I would hope that if I were in your situation (which I am not) As I have far to much body hair to consider shaving, due to the amount of ingrown hairs I would have to deal with should I decide to let it grow again. That I would be able to respond with something like:
Well I thank you for your concern about me. It is really nice of you to express it in the way you have. Can you tell me just what the basis for your concern is? I hope you can show me by your response that you have my well being as the motive behind your quarry?
