Adjusting to Retirement

Hi all,
A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to retire at age 55, and have a loving supporting, same size (except for shoes) wife!
I'm still getting used to having 6 Saturdays per week.
There are 4 thrift stores that have senior (55 and over) discount days and we are turning over our wardrobes a bit faster now.
My wife lets me dress femme around the house as much as I like, and I do at least part of almost every day.
We do make a schedule of activities and try to follow it.
How are the fortunate ones of us handling retirement?

Jadeanne sweetheart,
You have entered the best time in your life take it from another retireie.
Get up when you want go where ever you want when ever you want and best of all dress from morning till night.
But there is one big draw back you have got to stay active and keep the old body in shape. When I first retired I went up 2 dress sizes because I wasn't to active. Now to me that was a bummer getting fat and your cloths don't fit anymore. After moving to the country and you walk everywhere didn't take long to drop 2 dress sizes.
Now to be honest I love retirement and like you I can dress all I want, You know I know now I should have retired when I was 55 and had the chance but wasn't really ready yet. Sweetheart life is great after retirement enjoy it to it's fullest,

Thank you, Laycee and Carol Ann.
I'm trying to stay active and control my food intake and it seems to be working so far. My femme clothing from when I restarted dressing over 4 years ago all still fits. I will let my newspaper subscription run out and will walk a mile or so to get it.
Certain things that I was suffering burnout with from being buried under constant work are now a joy again. One of the things that gave me satisfaction at work was troubleshooting and repairing older computers. After several weeks off, I got great satisfaction from restoring a nearby friend's computer at MY pace and he was glad to have it working again.
I also renewed my interests in some other areas, like following major league baseball and having a fantasy team again for the first time in 13 years.
I am enjoying life a lot more now.
