"Traditionally there has been less awareness of transgender people, but that's changing rapidly."

For example, 25 percent of the U.S. population currently lives in a city, state or county with a law on the books barring discrimination against transgender people - up from only 6 percent just two years ago, Mottet said.

Philadelphia amended its fair practices ordinance to include "gender identity" in its list of groups protected from discrimination in employment, housing and city services.

.The laws are different up here in Canada, and I am abiding by them, So it dose not effect me directly. It is just that I have seen so much doom and gloom portrayed in many of the posts that I have read lately that the information was refreshing for me. and wanted to share it. I was not aware that the information had been previously posted here before.
