Going to the Doctors

When I was last at the doctor's he asked me to remove my shoes and socks.
I had just gotten a nice pedicure and my toes were painted bright red.
I said I prefer to not bare my feet, which made the doctor suspect some medical problem.
In the end I showed him my pretty nails and explained it was part of some sex play my wife and I enjoyed.
He approved noting that sexuality is important in a relationship.
Next time I am removing the polish before I go see him.
I hope he doesn't ask me to take off my shirt.
Keep smiling,
Julia

Just remember that doctors have seen pretty much everything under the sun. As long as you're keeping yourself healthy and not engaging in risky activites, they'll dismiss any other eccentricities. My mother and sister-in-law work for a hospital and for a doctor to even treat someone like us is no big deal at all. Quick thinking, though!

Hi Julie,
My SO is a nurse also, and they
HAVE seen just about everything imaginable. I wouldn't worry about him/her seeing my toes painted. You can be honest with your physician without repercussion. There's that little doctor-patient priveledge thingy to keep them from giving info to anyone without your consent.
Hugs,
Kyra

Everyone is right, the doctors have seen it all, and they don't care as long as it is not endangering your physical health. I have to see a OBGYN once a month for my hormones, what must she think? Yet she has always been gracious and professional towards me. Let it go and just be who you want to be-it's healthy!
Good luck!

It is not necessary to explain anything. You have your nails painted. Ok. What´s the problem?

I understand that you may have been embarassed but your health should be your #1 importance to you, without that, you aren't going to be getting many pedicures.
