Too close

I have been trying to stop CDing. I went almost a month and for me that seems like forever. Thought I had the house to myself and badly needed to un-stress. I had just put on a bra and top when our 18yr old daughter comes in. She lives about an hour away but usually know when she will be here. Anyway she stopped at the kitchen looking for food while I'm trying to take a bra off over my head and hide everything. I'm still freaked out about how close that was. Coming out to her would I think end our already shaky relationship.

Wow, that was close! I think most of us have been there and know what that's like. I certainly do. As long as she has a key, you can never be too careful. It's never a good thing getting busted, because invariably, you'll usually find yourself on the defensive. Much better to be in a position where you can discuss it on your terms, so perhaps this is your signal to try a find a way to 'talk' to her.

Hi Jill,

You know, daughters and sons for that matter can surprise us with their open-mindedness, but you know her better than we do.

Have you tried conversing with her and just getting around to asking her how she feels about gays/lesbians, then depending on factors that you will have to sense, you can bring up crossdressing and how she feels about those of us that do. You may be surprised, then again maybe not!

Anyway, good luck and remember what we say, "it actually never goes away." You can repress it, surpress it, ignore it, but it will be there until you achieve room temperature.

Hopefully you will continue to share with us and we will be interested to know if you do talk with your daughter and what is said.

Love,

Virginia

Jill,
Oh I know that feeling, my son lives about 25 miles from us and you just never know when he will show up. So we keep the doors locked and I have time to run into the shower. :^o

I wish I could come out to my daughter but she has made comments about some of the kids at colleage, the gays, lesbians, and "the freaks that wear makeup and you can't tell if they are girls or guys"(think she means genderqueers). I call her my little social Nazi and she loves to remind me how screwed up the Hippies were. I even wish I had never told my wife but you can't un-come out.

Guess that answers that!

A "social-Nazi?" that is cute! Hope it is not patented! :)
