MAKE OVER

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

MAKE OVER

Post by CarlyAnn (SO) »

Hi everyone...
Does any one know of a place where I can get a professional make over
for Hailey? (around Michigan). I just don't think I can do her justice. Her b-day is coming up in August and I thought this would be a great gift. If you have any other ideas let me know. Thanks.

Michigan is a big state.

Try http://www.janetscloset.com/
or contact them and see if they have a recommendation for near you.

Most Merle Norman stores do it for free, but of course they EXPECT you to purchase some of their products which as you know are good but rather expensive. Call first and ask if they deal with Transgendered folk! You will also need to decide if Hailey will go for the transistion or her alter-ego then change. You probably need to tell them that upfront as well! Some "Day Spas" also offer that kind of treatment and cater to "us" as well. You will just have to get on the phone and call around.

Let us know what you come up with!!!!

Love,

Try stopping at the makeup counter of a department store or other store that does makeovers. Talk to them and tell them what you want. My guess at least one, but more likely several of the people would love to do it for you. Others have also contacted a local Mary Kay or other makeup seller to come into their home to do the makeover.

I have found the world is a much more CD/TG friendly place that we think it is.

Just trying to find a balance for my family and myself.

Standard disclaimer: Going out of the house was right for me, it may or may not be right for you. If you've got no desire to leave the house, that's fine, I'm not trying to push you out the door. But for those who've been yearning to do so, I just want to let you know the world may not be as scary a place as you think.
