Do you cry?

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

cry

Post by Juanita »

HI Girls

When I was younger and I showed emotions my father would say that only sissy's would cry or show emotion. So to show my father that I was a real man I showed no emotions. But when i got out of the house I went to the military, again no show of emotions. But now as I get older I tear up at movie, and when I hear the song God bless the USA by Lee Greenwood. Since I have become Roxy I show more emotions.
Just trying to be one of the girls.

I've always been an emotional person with little problem letting go when needed. The clothing has made little difference to me.

Society has placed the "Real men don't cry" stigma out there.

It needs to go away.

*hugs*

it doesn't take much for me to cry- sad news story, very happy story or tear jerker movie- happens to me in drab or girly mode. The stereo type is that real men don't cry but i feel so much better after i let my emotions show.
Just starting to explore my feminine nature- am very shy meek and demure. Addicted to looking and acting ladylike. Still have so many questions about exactly who I am- have so many mixed emotions about my gender issues.

Certain specific situations stimulate my tear glands more than others. Some bits of classical music bring up tears - slow romantic segments of Rachmaninoff's music; Tchaikowsky's Romeo & Juliet, as examples. They stir the depths of my "Russian soul". Reading some of the tragic posts on this forum stirs me, and tears dribble on my keyboard. There are many other watery stimuli.

I am not ashamed or bothered by this outward sign of emotion, and, I should add, it matters not how I happen to be dressed - drab or femme.

Hugs,

Lydia

I recall as a child my mom telling me my dad could not cry (tear ducts?). I don't believe that anymore as I've seen him get older, struggling through cancer and tear up often.

As for me, I can feel tears on my eyes and I don't know how, but someway I pull them back in??? I don't cry often. Even if I am very sad. I want to, but the man in me won't let me, i just suck it up. Dressed or not.

Like a waterfall, sometimes for no real reason at all. :) Less now than when I first started hrt. But still do the tears easily at happy or sad moments in RL, or at a movie or some scenes in a book when I have empathy for one of the characters. I am rarely angry enough since I transitioned to reach the point in emotion that I cry.

But in the midst of my depression before transition I used to cry for hours often accompanied by screams of frustration and anger, but mostly while driving on long trips for my work and sorta alone in the vehicle or alone in my house. No, the two (work and depression) were not related, just the depression and indecision. :) I was also somewhat suicidal and wondered how much of a concrete bridge bannister with a deep lake below it I could tear up with my 1/2 ton vehicle at 90 miles an hour. Would I have stayed on the road or been flipped into the lake? It was entirely academic. Would you have liked to meet me on the road? :?

i think being able to express your emotions is so important in terms of mental and physical heatlh. Maybe that is the est thing females have over men. They can show their turn feelings and not worry about called sisssies.

Sunshine, blue sky, please go away,
My girl has found another, and gone away
With her went my future, my life is filled with gloom,
So day after day, I stay locked up in my room

I know to you it might sound strange,
I wish it would rain (oh how I wish that it would rain)
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

Cause so badly
I wanna go outside (such a lovely day)
Everyone knows that a man ain't supposed to cry
But listen, I got to cry, cuz crying, ooooooooh,
Is the pain, oh yeah

Yeah you know people, this hurt I feel inside,
Words, they, could never explain,
I wish it would rain (oh how i wish that it would rain)
Oh let it rain, rain, rain, rain (oh how i wish that it would rain)
Ooooooh baby

Let it rain (rain, rain)
Oh yeah, let it rain

Day in day out, my tear stained face
Pressed against my window pane
I search the skies, well, desperately for rain
Cause rain drops will hide my teardrops and no one will ever know
That I'm crying (crying) crying (crying)
When I go outside

To the world outside my tears I refuse to explain,
I wish it would rain (oh how I wish that it would rain)
Rain, rain, rain (oh how I wish that it would rain)
ooooh baby

Let it rain
I need rain to disguise the tears in my eyes
Yeah, You know I'm a man, I ain't got no pride,
Til it rains, I'm gonna stay inside,
Let it rain, Let it rain
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...
Oh how I wish that it would rain...

I have become such a crybaby,if I hear a sad story or one of great joy-I cry!!
I love little baby ducks, winners when they cry, losers then they try...

I cry when I see the Honor Roll of servicepeople killed in the wars. It's on the Newshour on PBS, and I feel I owe it to them to watch.
West Side Story gets me, too.
Don't you lock up something that you wanted to see fly!
