Some really Good News for a change

Post by Danielle La Belle »

Hi Girls:

A few simple pointers.

Economy: The social arrangements that determine what is produced, how it is produced, and for whom it is produced.

Market-Oriented Economy: An economy in which most economic decisions are made by buyers and sellers, who may be individuals or firms.

Note: 1890: Alfred Marshall (1842-1924) "economics involves the study of people, as they live and move and think in the ordinary business of life."

Things will get better over time! If you have the time.....(???), the nature of things will change. Here in Florida we "walk on the other side of the street when it is raining." Any current investor in the stock market will tell you that they are down by 45% or so even in mutual funds. No one is protected from this global downturn.

I thought that I had it bad...but recently in "Portfoli" magazine, an article pointed out that in Zimbabwe, Africa, inflation last year was........
87,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.....Percent. Every 5 days the market price on a loaf of bread doubled. $1...$2....$4....$8....$16....$32... you get the picture!

As the Federal Reserve cranks up the money printing machine...we see the chance of inflation down the road. On the other hand, without the new money supply, there will be little to lend and get the economy going again.

You have to spend a little to make a little. You have to make a little to spend a little!

On a lighter note, we had a "Cold Snap" here in Central Florida in January and my super Wal-Mart is out of the "B" size, thigh-high stockings! Yes girls, even the boys ran out and bought some it was so cold

So I am waiting for a restock of my favorite thigh-high's !!! When they get in, I will buy 2 boxes...that should jump start the economy!

Hi Ladies
One of my best customers manufactures cosmetic containers for Revlon and the likes. This is the first time ever they are slow and laid off people. This is a sign it will be a depression when women stop buying their favorite cosmetic but look on the bright side.
The spending bills coming through Congress are so huge your Representative and Senator can sneak in some pork and no one will notice. I just got a couple of research grants from two of the stellar stars in the Senate. One is your favorite Virginia. Chris Dodd.
Senator Dodd alloted me a 5 million dollar research grant to study the eating habits of Jack Russell terriers and Senator Lieberman gave me two because he couldn't decide which one to go with.
One is for a research paper on the history of pork and the other is a documentary on Jewish sports heros. That's going to be a rough one ladies. Was Pete Rose Jewish? Let me know.
I have to get going. I had to go out to eat tonight with the Warden, the monkeys and my sister Christine who is down from Maine. I was a good girl and dressed in drab and Mini said" You're getting fat!"and poked me in my stomach. Let me think. The last time Mini got into a size 8 was in high school and now in her freakin' dreams. Hugs girls.

Love

Hi Girls:

Well first, I know it really is easy to complain. After all, we are all but one little cog in a giant wheel called “the economy.” That said, perhaps it was time for a major wake-up call. We sold off our manufacturing the past 20 years. We then put a clamp on the telephone marketing industry (I hate those guys---ha ha LOL). So what have we left? Hmmmm…Religion and Government oh and yes, the “Law business.” Religion is booming again and of course the “Law” business rarely has a bad day in court.

The business of local Government is typical. They are out of money and are laying off the teachers in Florida. You would think that with zero-based budgets, they would not over-spend but as in any household today, they have more than one credit card to spend on.

So I am not going to start a thread that just pounds on the table and vents my frustrations with something that is so big and cumbersome that the entire Federal, State and local governments cannot seem to wield themselves.

No!

Rather, I am looking for solutions so that I can write to those that I support and tell them what to do. I am sure that they are waiting to hear from me. Did you hear that sound? It’s the telephone, [DC] is calling for me to fly up there in my jet and fix things! Ha ha LOL!

I had to have my cat spayed today! She will be a bundle of laughs when she gets home this evening! Then there are the weeds in the yard. What next? There seems to be no end to the world calling at my door! Ha Ha LOL!

Laugh a little, give a little, cry a little, but for goodness sake, lower your blood pressure and take a deep breath! Things are always in a state of change. This time period will be no different. As Warren Buffet was quoted in saying recently…[What? Me Worry?] or was that “Mad” Magazine…..?????

Hugs
