Well it's been 4 months since I last was en-femme due to various factors. That's when I was in New Orleans in February. In fact last time I was dressed in Carolina was July of last year I think.
Well I finally broke the drought and was Steffie the last couple of days. The first day was in North Carolina and the second day was in South Carolina. It was nice to get back into the swing of things.
The first day I went to a nail salon as my nails were a lot like those of a male (as can be expected when you go 4 months without being en-femme lol). It was nice to be called ma'am by various people the whole day. I wore white capris and a green T with sandals. I got a manicure and pedicure and then went to Asheville Mall and did some shopping.
The next day I ventured into South Carolina (the first time ever there as Steffie). I wore jean capris and a blue T with sandals and went to the mall in Greenville. Another good day. South Carolina doesn't have a reputation for being TG friendly like Asheville, NC but I had no problems whatsoever. I got some good buys at NY & Co and tried on outfits in the dressing room: I found 3 pretty dresses and they were well priced. I can wear them when I visit up Notth later this month. On the way home I stopped while still in SC and got some fresh peaches and blueberries at a fruit stand. Again it was uneventful.
All in all it was an enjoyable 2 days. Nothing fancy-just dressing as a mainstream girl.
Good for you! I miss being able to go out these days sooo much. Or even just when I'm at home. *sigh* (Asheville's such a cool town and I haven't been there -- or in Greenville -- in ages!)
So happy for you Steffie that you finally got a couple of days out femme, as I know how much you like it.
I have not been out femme since Mid April when i was up to Ottawa for the weekend, was out looking at open houses with my friend, and it was so nice to hear the lady RE agent phone another agent and tell her that she had 2 ladies there looking for houses.
That will all change for me 24 July, as that is my Moving day, at which time too, Denise will be coming out full time
Hello all: It seems that casual outfits make one much more "passable"... or at least until I start talking-- seems like I'm much less noticeable...
Capris look great on you, Steffi-- and congrats on your two days "out and about."
As for me-- yes, I've discovered that casual outfits like that do seem to make one much more "passable"-- "genetic girls" are dressed that way, so if we also do, we'll blend in much better and won't be "read" as easily.
I have discovered the wonderful world of t-shirt and "girl shorts" outfits. Comfortable, cute, and similar to what I wear in "guy" mode. So I've actually gone out a lot more over the past few weeks. I think I even feel more confident dressed like that, which could be because the t-shirt/shorts combo is so close to what I usually wear.
I actually thought that wearing shorts would make me stand out more, but that has not been the case.
Would love to post a few photos here, but am no "techie" and need an assistant to help if anything goes wrong.
Hope everyone's enjoying their summer.
Peace-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader").
I too have found that Capries/T-Shirt or jeans/T-shirt work very well to blend in. Then too I have an outfit that I wear once in a while that yells FEMALE. It is a two piece outfit with the top part having straps. I wear a strapless bra with it and my forms.
