Wedding Dress

Post by Julie Miller »

I had a dream that I was attending a wedding. The bride looked beautiful in her white dress and veil. I had a wedding dress on too. I was sitting up front in the church.
I told my wife about the dream.

Has anyone worn a wedding dress? What was your experience?

I haven't but I'd certainly like to give it a try at some point. :)

Hi all,

Before my wife and I attended a civil union ceremony I dreamed about going and being asked to be matron of honor - it was one of the factors of the "girl within" reawakening after 33 years.

If you have insomnia, I posted my beginnings several months ago on http://crossdressers-forum.com/forums/v ... .php?t=140

I have a red lace and satin bridesmaid dress that came from a thrift store and wear that once in a while.

My wife offered to let me wear her wedding gown if I wanted to. It was made by her aunt and the dress the aunt made for her as a test for the pattern fits me, but I don't feel ready now.

I saw a lovely one on eBay for $75 - I wish I was at the point of buying one.

Hi Julie,

There are lots of CD'rs out there who also enjoy wearing wedding dresses.

You should find a lot of nice photos on the web about those who wear them. :)

I guess I'm trying to say, "Go For It" and you're not alone. :)

There is this company that advertise dresses from $99 dollars.

Davids Bridal

However every time I go to the web site all the gowns are several hundred dollars.

Hi, all

Since I last posted on this thread, I now have 2 more formal dresses picked up at thrift stores for a total of $10 US.

One is a yellow silk designer dress that was probably for the mother of the bride (high neckline).

The other is white and could have been worn by a second time bride for an afternoon wedding.

I describe them in greater detail in the "What Are You Wearing" thread.

We must have more CD members who have bride/bridesmaid/formal dress experiences/dreams/desires. Please share them with us.

The last time I was at the local thrift/second hand store (what ever you want to call it) I got what could be called a maybe a bridesmaids dress or a prom dress. The odd thing is how I found it. I was trying on the clothes in the changing booth and it was an item someone had left in there. Their loss is my find. It is pretty nice. It has a belt of sort that came with it. I am not sure what is called exactly but that is the best I can say about it.

Wedding gowns

Post by Susann_Gardener »

A couople years ago I would stop at 2 thrift shops after a day of skiing (was far from home). I would have changed into a LLBra with forms at the ski area, and driven the 10 or so miles to the shops. There I would try on several wedding gowns. It was always fun, although I knew I couldn't buy one and take it home.

Back in my thinner days and before I came out to my wife I used to wear her dress.

I used to love the fell of the satin and how the dress flowed when I walked.

Sadly my size has grown and I so regret all those days in the closet.

I would love to have a wedding dress or some kind of formal gown. I don't know what I would do with it other than wearing it around the house for fun.

I have a few bridal gowns...a friend sent them to me in exchange for other "stuff". Two of four fit great, another two donated to a Triess group. As has been said, it is the "ultimate" dress and where the heck do you wear them? I modeled one for my SO, but she says if we ever get hitched it has to be a new one (for me, not her). Gowns are fun, but not for going out too often...I did get a chance to wear my ball gown once to an affair, but that was just goofy. So, just enjoy and get one if you can (for cheap) Ya only go around once

I wore my mom's wedding dress when I was a teenager.
Belive me it's an ultra feminine experience! I loved it.

I have worn a wedding dress and it was the most wonderful feeling in the world. It was long sleeved with lace applique, a high neck, and a wonderfully long flowing train. The swish of the satin as I walked made mw feel so absolutely feminine. What made it even more wonderful is that I had to have my friend Cookie zip the zipper for me, so I not only had the opportunity to wear a wedding dress, but had a wonderful woman watch me wearing it.
