embarrassment

Post by Lana D »

I was reading a thread concerning posting photos and in fear of being recognised by family and friends, which reminded me of a time, that at the time I was living on my own and had produced a photo that was of me, but in black and white and almost a line silhouette this was in a frame along with other pictures also b/w but not of me, sort of 20s stile men in top hats women in 20s type dresses so basically they blended together to form a theme for a room, on a visit by my daughter one day, I found her staring at this photo, there was a smile on her face and she said “ dad is that you?” with controlled embarrassment I was very evasive with my answer not saying yes and not saying no, The reason for my embarrassment and evasiveness was based on the fact that over the many years of dressing and having a wish to share my (hobby), I have lost a lot of my girl friends of which I was very fond of, I did not want to loss the love of my daughter so hence my answer to her. So I was wondering if any one else has had this type of situation in there life

Sort of.

I had my camera hooked to my mother's television and was showing her some photos. One of me popped up that I forgot was there.

I clicked past it, but not fast enough. I wasn't embarrassed, though. My wife didn't want me outing myself to my mom.

However, she wanted to know who the person was, so I went back to it and told her. She was very accepting.

It sounded like your daughter would have been also.
