Dear DonnaT. Thank you so very much for the kindness you have shown me. I just hope others will come around. I am so afraid. It seem everywhere I go to people don't like me because I am a trans woman pre/op. I don't think I will ever be able to get an operation. I am to old and I have copd.(cronic obstructive pulmanary disease) medical term . To make a long sory short I smoked for 45 years and my lungs have turned hard like plpastic and it is hard for me to breath. The doctors gave me 5 years that was 10 years ago. I just want to live my life what I have left like I want to AS A WOMAN. I believe I was born to be a woman..I feel it inside. Ever since I was 5 or6. M<y wife and I have been married for 43 years and I kept it from her. She found out and wants me to go to Houston,Texas to be myself. Im scared I dont know anyuone in Houston. This will be my first time out as a woman. I wont know if I have enpough make up on or what. I am really scared. The silver lady said if I came out and talked to everyone. Someone would come forward and help me. I believe her. But thanks Ms. Donna T. From your picture you are a very lovely woman. I hope I can look 1/2 as good as you. God Bless you Becky
I like to talk about dresses, make up. Anything about being a woman. I am a pre/op trans woman and proud of it.

Hi Becky,
I'm sorry to hear about the COPD. My mom had it for a long time and it seemed to make its way into a great many aspects of her life.
You are foturnate that your wife is so pleasant about this. But maybe Houston is too far away. Is there somewhere else closer?
I've never done this but a number of people here have. There are groups like Tri Ess and Southern comfort made up of people who crossdress to varying degrees. (remember that transexuals sometimes say they aren't crossdressing, they are wearing the right clothes for who they really are) Everyone in those groups started out new at one time and they are pretty attuned to helping newcomers. None of them will care if your makeup is right.
Now and then I go to Provincetown Mass, which is as far away as Houston. They have a festival in October called Fantasia Fair which is filled with cders. i've never been there but many evenings in Ptown you will run across a guy or two in a dress. I've also seen people in collars and leashes walking down the street but that's another topic. The point I'm getting to was last time I was there I saw a guy in a dress with a beard. No one batted an eyelash.
If you go to Houston and don't know anyone, then you don't have to worry about anyone telling the folks back home, do you?
Last thought. There are many ways to express a female nature (if anyone can agree on what that is) besides the clothing. You'll see it here in the posts sometimes, some folks here just seem to express themselves in feminine ways.

Rebecca Debra welcome to the forum from south east South Dakota. You are not the only one in the area. But most TG's are well hidden since the area tends to be fairly conservative. I have been out and about in SC quite a bit and there are others in town. You may have seen me in the mall, some other store, out to eat, or here:

I am a physically male person that likes to wear feminine clothes at times.
Just trying keep a balance for my self along with keeping my wife and kids in mind.
