Erica? Haven't you seen that a lot of men's socks look like knee his? Forget putting socks over the knee his; that's just a layer of heat my feet would hate. Besides, if your socks do slip and you accidently show the knee his, that's going to be more obvious that just showing teh knee his like everything is normal. I wear trouser socks/knee his all the time. Heck in the winter, I'll wear my dark pantihose and they look just like the socks. No one really knows that the "socks" end at my waist.

Unless you have a truly fem pattern on your trouser socks, knee his, dark pantihose, the odds are know one will notice or care.

Davita, I wanted to cover my kneehi's to be sure they were not seen as of now, I think because of the shoes I wear, Birkenstock's some of my foot could be seen if my scrub pants move just right. I do not mind the heat it is always cooler at my work, I work in a hospital. I wish I could wear pantyhose more often to work as I love the feel of them on. Maybe I will try the kneehi's without socks one day we shall see.

Ive worn my panties, thongs, and my garter belt with stocking to work, underneath work pants for an industrial eviorment no less. Ive painted my nails for years now and going to work with them painted hasnt been a problem for me until my boss says i cant do that in the work enviorment pretty much just because im a guy. I wore earings a few times but i dont know where my studs have gone so i really havent worn earrings in a little while now.

I wear boy short panties under my work clothes as well as tight and panty hose once in awhile. Thank god I have a job where its in cold weather and nothing comes close to revealing what I have underneath, if I got into an accident and they had to remove my clothing then it would be a complete shocker to the people undressing me to see me in female attire.

In college I occassionally wore panties and thigh highs under my clothes. These days, I have worn panties a few times. I also get to work from home sometimes, so I've actually gone to work in a dress or skirt and top. It was a little weird at first, but I adjusted pretty quickly.

I am working in a very male dominant place as a railroad freight car inspector in a switching yard with repair shop. So I am in the mechanical field which include lots of safety clothing and issues.

I go to work in my work clothes so there is no changing involved, however I am fully shaved and have my toenails painted and I think the perfume is noticeable. I sure hope it is.

Hmm... now I am thinking of what else I can bring with me.

I recently told my manager and one co-worker (of my hrt starting in January) whom I work with for the last 12 years. Nobody else yet as they will not understand.

The manager is very okay with it and told me that if there is any kind of negative response/actions, he will not allow that. He is also going to convert one restroom into a unisex restroom. I did told him that once my body is going to show more I will eventually come out to the others.

But yes its kind of "cool" to have something feminine to work, knowing that they don't know. Oh and I like to do a "bad" job of cleaning my finger nails, so there is still a little bit fingernail polish visible in the edges.

And I know an engineer who waited until she was retiring to come out. She started doing thing that were noticable after awhile but she had hid for years. She wore lingerie that wasn't noticed, she eventually pierced her ears, she began wearing nail polish. I can understand having your secrets, Erin because my friend had your same concerns.

I too used to work in a very masculine field of work. That did not stop me going to work wearing panties and pantyhose and the odd cami in winter. I now wear panties at every opportunity I can get.

I am lucky enough to work from home, so I do wear girls clothes to the office .. seeing as the office is right down the hall from the bed room

BUT -- when I was in the office, I did wear girls stuff that looked like guys stuff -- no one notices that buttons go the other way. Plus haven't been out of bras and pantie sin, gosh, 18 years.

Here's a funny sort of story though. It was, lets see, 18 years ago, when I was consulting in the IT department of a very large local chain of grocery stores. It was Christmas time and no one was in. I was trying to figure something out, was deep in thought, walked around the corner, down the hall, pushed open the door and noticed that suddenly the washroom smelled very very nice. Then I said to myself, 'Hey self, sure smells better in here than it usually does, and wow, when did they paint the walls that nice lilac colour, when did they change it to all stalls, and hmm -- what happened to that nasty smell of ... hmm ... ah ..er .... ooops. Oh well, I'm here. (For the uniformed -- it was -- well -- you know)

I think about my painted toes often while I’m at work. However, the best part is when I come home after a long commute on motorcycle in So Cal rush hour traffic, then I begin to shed my riding gear, and when I take off my heavy motorcycle boots and expose the red polish on my toes I can’t help myself but to smile.

Well I have a little update, after reading trough "all the info" on our company website, related to gender... a whopping one or two sentences in half a page, I have inquired about the former coworker that transitioned. I always thought he or she was fired, but instead was bought out.

Any way, as of today my supervisor, two immediate co-workers on my shift and the company nutrition/wellness lady knows. Yep I told them.

So since they know I guess hiding something isn't really necessary any more. So I think in a few days I am going to wear under garments, they won't see it, but if they where, at least they know not to be surprised. Until I am going to be more visibly feminine, I will still be a tom boy.
