Hi Alexandra--
My band all met online, on a 35-city net called Craigslist. It just happened that a film company here in San Francisco was making a documentary about Craigslist, and they screened 23,000 posts from one particular day.
They liked our band concept, which is broadway diva Ethel Merman singing hard rock classics. So they made us the "stars" of the documenary. You get to see "Mr. Anita" introduce himself, and make a little speech about T-girls.
Then they filmed the publicity photo shot, and last they filmed a concert in SF. That's where the stage shot in the gallery came from.
At present, the picture seems to be in deep stealth. But if you see
24 Hours on Craigslist on the marquee, rush over and plunk down the money for a ticket. I think you'll like it.

Hi Deborah--
Aw, shucks-- what can I say? It was an accident of the universe, but I definitely ran with the ball when it came into my court!
From what I can tell, there's some crazy stuff in the movie, that gives it a "did you see THAT?" kind of feeling. After all, it's an online community, and we all know how wild it can get out here.
There's some flash mobs featured, and that already seems SO 2003. I haven't read a reference to them this year at all.
The two reviews I've seen were from Texas papers. One of them said, "Maybe pointlessness IS the point," and that didn't do much for me.
I tried to paste another snippet in here, and failed. But it calls the film a "zoo," and says, "These are genuine people, strange in their habits, and they have no problem sharing their eccentricities with the world."
Now, I don't know whether the reviewer is including THIS T-girl in their assessment, but so be it if they are. They're right--I don't mind sharing my creation with the world. I am glad, however, that family and friends were well aware before this project started. I'd hate for them to learn about Anita on CNN (where the movie was featured).

Thanks Anita.
Here's their website:
http://24hoursoncraigslist.com/
Not really much on the website yet as I'm sure the filmmakers are still in the long process of marketing the film and/or entering film festivals . . .
I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

Thanks for all the support, and for the link. It has been very quiet on the website, for many months, and it doesn't fit with the energetic film crews and the very outgoing director, Michael Gibson.
It takes a lot of work to sustain a "girly" illusion for 45 minutes of filmed concert. Just holding in my stomach for that long is a chore, but I really don't want to become dependent on girdles to do the work. Standing up straight is also a big deal for me--a woman with bad posture seems much more noticeable, to my eyes.

Anita, I really couldn't tell from the website for sure, but it is apparent that movie already has a "distributor". This would help explain the "silence" (the film is out of the filmmaker's hands and in the hands of the distributor).
Do you know for a fact that the filmmaker DID sell his film?
