What is something you would want?

Post by Jessie »

I thought I pose this question to CDers more directly but SO could chime in.

I was thinking of what I would like to have in my closest of clothing that I do not currentaly have? The item I am thinking of is a Wedding Gown. Though I know it's a little inpratical to wear around the home but I look at them sometimes and think that they are nice looking at wouldn't be nice to have.

You asked an excellent question, Jessie.

My wife said she would allow me to wear her wedding gown if I wanted to, but I'm not going to rush into it. Her wedding gown was made for her by an aunt. As a size trial, the aunt made her a regular long dress from the pattern. When we were rearranging things, we found it and I tried it on. It fit, so I know I could wear it, but I don't think I'm ready yet.

If you had posted this question a few days ago, I would have listed 2 items that I ordered, but I did receive one yesterday, so I'm enjoying it now.

The 2 items I ordered were a front lacing corset and a petticoat.

The petticoat arrived yesterday and when I tried it on, I was thrilled! It works so nice with a lot of my dresses :) . I posted about it elsewhere on the forum yesterday. The petti is a Malco Modes 580 medium (22 inc) in white.

I ordered the front lacing corset fron Old Pueblo Traders. I have read Francine's thread about her corset experience, but I don't plan to try tightlacing, just to wear it at most 2-3 hours at a time, so I thought that one would be OK as a first one. It was also pretty much at the top of my price range.

Very good topic Jessie.

I have long thought about a wedding dress, but for me it means more that just a pretty dress, it signifies being married to a male.

I think it's because I have so many women in my family, this has been drilled into my head. So to do it would say I think of it in a way that's far more female (sex, not gender) than it would be a crossdressing thing.

I do always love pics of TG'd gals who wear them though. They usually look so great!!! :)

I hope this post made sense. ;)

Gee I would love to have one of those sexly black cocktail dresses with very thin straps, low cut top, and a long slit in the side to show leg :P :) Carol Ann

Now that I have a petticoat, I would like a few skirts that are full enough to wear with it. All of my and my wife's skirts are too straight :( .

Until I get some, I'll do OK with the 15 dresses (3 of them 2 piece) amd 4 jumpers that do work with it  .

I missed the discussion about corsets.
I could not find a front lacing coset at Old Pueblo traders.
Can someone please help with a recommendation?
What works?

Ooh! Nice topic that I seem to have missed.

But if we talk about clothes, then the one piece of garment that I truly want, is a wedding dress. I think it represents the ultimate femininity. Now who here wouldn't want to wear a wedding dress? Huh? :)

Julie,

Old Pueblo Traders and their lingerie subsidary Intimate Appeal at

http://ia.oldpueblotraders.com/pagebuilder/

don't list the front lacing corset on the website all the time.

The price is in the mid $50s - at the top of my price range.

I don't know if I still have a catalog with the corset listed in it, but if I do, I'll check on the website if it's still available and post the catalog number.

I did some posting of my corset experiences in the "What Are You Wearing" thread.

I hope this was of some assistance.

It's time for me to head for bed - work tomorrow.

Julie,

I found the paperwork that came with my corset and it had the item number. I tried it on the Old Pueblo website under the catalog quick order and it showed up as in stock.

The item number is 42415 for the 15" length front lacing corset and the price came up as $55.99. That was the price I paid before a $10 discount from the front page of the catalog, plus shipping.

I hope this helps. Please post, email, or pm any further questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

Jadeanne,

Thanks!

I have tried waist cinchers and various padded girdles before.
I haven't been real happy with them.
How do you feel about your corset as an alternative to other shapers?

ahem . . . a corset custom made to fit your body measurements will be FAR more comfortable than "off the rack" torture devices (girdles, corsets et al) made in standard sizes s-m-l-xl.

I use a Veronica 2 and a corset from http://www.altered-tyme.com/. Very well made and cheaper than most custom corsets, but still expensive. I love the way I look in it! http://crossdressers-forum.com/coppermi ... fullsize=1
