Drew Carey
Each week night my family watch Drew Carey's show, ' Whose Line Is It Anyway ' on TV. For that 30 minutes everything has to come to a stop in the house.
It's shown in prime time at 7.30pm and has been running for quite a long time. It seems there have been a huge number of episodes of the show made. Last night my daughter made the comment that it must have been a popular show in the US. The show's ratings here are very high, would that have been the same in the US?
Kind Regards.

The original "Whose Line" aired on BBC in the UK. Most of the American/Canadian actors who've performed on Carey's version started over there: Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood. It was hosted by a guy named Clive Anderson, who was more interested in generating laughs, than getting the audience to laugh at him.

I'd be lying if I denied that I've enjoyed the US version, but I've always thought it'd be moreso without Drew. The improv games are the best, and sometimes they make for interesting job training.

I've seen both the UK and US versions of the show, and enjoy them both.
Ryan Stiles (tall skinny redhead dude) Greg Proops (guy with the Buddy Holly glasses) and Colin Mochrie (the bald one) are my favorite improvs on that show. There was one where Ryan was offstage making sounds and Colin had to act out the sounds. I had tears in my eyes from cracking up so hard!!
The hoe-down they all do at the end of the show is the best.
Hey Sophie, did you know that Colin (bald guy) is actually pretty tall himself? He's 6' 2" (1.88 m) according to imdb.com . And Ryan (redhead) is huge!! He's about 6' 6" (1.98 m)

I love that show!!

Heeheee, I have to say I used to cry with laughter at that show too, there was also a black man who did really cool beatbox and sounds he was funny, but I loved so many things on that show. Like when they put their hands behind their backs and another one did there hands, the songs at the end, the pretend adverts for compilation CDs that was so cool!Lorna wrote:Hey Sophie, did you know that Colin (bald guy) is actually pretty tall himself? Hey Lorna,
I noticed you didn't include Wayne Brady, actually he's my favourite on the show, such a talented person. Well actually Linda Taylor would wear that crown, but for different reasons. lol...
It's also noticable that Colin Mochrie always gets to play the part of the female in their role plays, whether that's by choice I'm not sure.
Kind Regards.

Wayne Brady!!! How could I forget him? He's awesome!
I don't know if you've heard of the Dave Chapelle Show - it's a comedy show here in the US - Wayne also made an appearance on that show because Dave kept making fun of him in various sketches. For example, there was a sketch where they said "White people love Wayne Brady because he makes Bryant Gumbel look like Malcolm X."
And in one Chapelle show sketch, Wayne was acting like a gangster, beating up cops & visiting hookers & saying "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a b****?"
LOL!!! That was sooooo out of control...

Sally: to your orginal question Drew Carry was big a couple years ago then ABC in hte great wisdom kept moving around to differnt time slots. Then it dissappeared off the schedual for while but they had produce a whole session. So run the show out they ran them during the summer. I believe the show is not returning next fall do it's low low ratings.
