Some people wander this "veil of tears" in such ignorant bliss as to be an actual danger to society in general. This lady no doubt fits that description.
I can only hope that the Advice Column set her straight! These are the type of people we need to educate but its gonna be a "tough row to hoe!"

Observing Crossdressing kids in public
What a narrow-minded person this was, ready to bring the official wrath of civil authority and the community down on their friends and neighbors.
This is a CD friendly community here on the group, of course. But this shows how a LOT of people feel about this subject in 2004.
I now live in a suburban town in the South. At a yard sale, I once saw a boy about 5 or so, trying on some high heeled shoes. The very attractive middle-aged Southern lady who was having the sale helped him stand up and held his hand to help him walk in them. "Don't you LOVE the sound they make?' she asked brightly. The boy said he DID. After she was called away to sell something, his young mother saw him in them. "TAKE THOSE OFF RIGHT NOW!" she said "Those are for GIRLS! Your Daddy would tan your HIDE if he saw you in THOSE!"
